I thought Sony was gag ordered by the president of the company from spewing such nonsense?

This has to be one of the funniest statements I've heard.

That was a joke article.

Well, it should have been true. I have nothing against Sony but they need to cut out the rediculous comments.

Actually no, the Six has very little in common with the Wii Controller.

When I said "toy" it was what Sony called the Wii-mote.

But whatever, even if the rumors are true and they do get further into Motion Devices it will be good for competition.

They did not say anything ridiculous here. Read it again.

They are saying that they solidified themselves a hardcore userbase and are now going to put more focus into the casual market later this year.

Nowhere did they say they captured "ALL" of the hardcore. Nowhere are they making attacks on opposing consoles.

What is "ridiculous" about this?

I think this is more of a case of people seeing what they want to see.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Got a retro room? Post it here!

I was happy until i read the words "John Koller" then i said "meh"

Anyway, i can see PS3 having a massive amount of games, like the PS2... but can they really steal the casual crowd from Wii and now 360?

Its gonna be a good year thats for sure.

Isn't it a little late to be pushing for the "casual" user now?

I find it amusing because it's Koller, and I can't read this without being reminded of how he took the DS to task for being aimed at the 12 and unders and neglecting key hardkorez demographix or whatever nonsense, then turned around and talked up how they were going to broaden the PSP's horizons with a Hannah Montana bundle.

And also because it's inherently amusing whenever Microsoft and Sony openly lust after Nintendo's market and start talking about their hare-brained plans to steal the casualz.

Oh yes, this guy has said plenty of stupid things but when he says something that isn't wrong or ridiculous in any way I find no reason to attack the guy.

I wouldn't say that.

“There’s certainly a line-up of very strong family-friendly titles that we’re looking at for PS3 in our continuing effort to appeal to that casual consumer,” said SCEA hardware marketing boss John Koller, speaking at GDC.

That's pretty ridiculous. I guess they didn't get the memo that casuals don't go for overpriced, overengineered consoles.

will push for casual later this year

Good luck with that...

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.
