Forums - Nintendo - Will the Conduit deliver?Or will it fail to live up to the hype?

We may need to factor in another angle to these sales...

Carnival Games had bad reviews, low scoring and was talk about being crap..however a few commercial's, and some stupid parents and boom..the game sold 3.24 million....

The box art of The conduit will get kids attention..the Teen rating wont scare off parents..and a few ads on tv may help. Factor in a few decent reviews...this game could do better then expected.

I predict critics will like it (80+), but in terms of sales this game will be killzowned.

I can see if debuting 100-150k in it's first week. 700K by the end of the year. It'll probably sell on word of mouth and not reviews.

Metacritic score 70-80ish.

We've seen games have a ton of advertising and great reviews yet they'll still pull in medicore sales. If this was a Wii launch title it would sell a million easy. But in this flooded market I can't imagine it clears 500K life time.

Flooded market of Wii FPS games.  And yet it's just casual sports party petz games according to mostof your post history.  &explodes*

OT: I'm predicting an 86-88 average and two to three million lifetime.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Obviously Wii consumers aren't demanding FPS games. The best selling FPS game right is Metroid Prime 3 at 1.52 million. CoD World at War is a mega popular franchise and has barely passed a million. You expect this obscure shooter to sell 3 million?

Are you huffing jenkem or just a delirious fanboy?

Metroid Prime 3 is more Action-Adventure than FPS. Also there are many reasons why CoD:WaW sold average on the Wii. One is that the franchise isn't as established on Wii. The only other CoD game is CoD3 and that is horrible with broken controls. While on other consoles it has Modern Warfare to precede it.  Another reason is that it is gimped compared to the other versions, and the only redeeming quality is superior controls. The only thing the conduit has against it in comparison is that it is a new ip. Despite all of that it still has reached a million, and will probably sell a half a million more before it stops. It isn't limited by being a gimped multiplat game, or having a poor predecessor. Having said that I don't think it will reach 3 million, and 2 million seems a little too high. I do think there is a good chance it will become the best selling wii fps.

i think it won't be the amazing fps game for the wii everyone is hoping for
but that's what I've been thinking from the start

I'm guessing 1,5 million if they're lucky it would probably become something like 1 million

if you looked at the differences between the Wii and the HD version (apart from gfx) you would understand why it hasn't sold better.

My answer to both is

"Ok, but would have been considerably better if they included split-screen multiplayer"

What? The boring split screen that can't go online and Nazi zombies? You Think that's what sold  millions more?

You can't admit HD consoles have a bigger FPS fanbase?

Idk about the split screen, but Nazi Zombies is all my friends play. Also the HD Consoles have more players online, dlc, and  a few other smaller things.
