' Sony doesn't make titles. They are lucky they were able to acquire devs that have similar styles that have what we've come to know as "Sony style". If Sony made titles, a good portion of them would probably flop.

 

i hope you are being sarcastic because then whats microsoft? they aren't even a hardware company also bungie and epic are both third party.

It could be Kingdom Hearts III or another of S-E vast list of franchises, could be Biowares currently untitled next gen game, maybe a Namco bandai game, maybe the peter jackson Halo game, Capcom game maybe (Onimusha is a MIA this generation thus far).

With that breaking the bank comment, Major Nelson also talked alot about "further out into the future". And given Sony's jab at MS lack of 1st party support, there's always the chance that MS has bought a developer. Seems like pretty good timing to me (that Sony would take a jab now, whilst MS clearly does have a weaker set of 1st party devs).

The one announcemt logic can rule out is KH3, thats not happening until Versus is released and no way would Nomura let someone else touch his baby. Flagship KH3 being made by another team besides the KH team is just not going to happen, don't even need to be working at SE to know that.

A new first party team would be great, my guess is that MS loverboy Itagaki has formed a first party team. Sony would not know about that though so it has to be something else which caused Sony to spout rubbish.

 

RPG, so if you had to guess (wild guess, reasonable guess, take your pick) what has caused Sony to react that way, what do you think it is?..*let your imagination run freely* :)

with all the news around a new forza game that is massive and on 2 disks but without any real evidence it would be funny as hell if polyphone walked out and stage and said we needed help to get this game out in the level of quality we wanted, so microsoft and turn 10 pitched in and now we are ready to announce in winter 09 GT5 for the 360 to join our PS3 version. Turn 10 goes onto explain how features from forza were worked into gt5 and how dlc will come from both companies leaving gt5 to be supported ah la burnout but better with new content until the next generation of consoles comes out

 

 

note i do not think this would happen but it would be funny as hell... also id miss forza

I think people don't realise that the announcement won't be considered big if it's stealing another exclusive from Sony, mainly because no one really cares anymore as almost every big third-party games are available on both platforms, so I doubt it would shock anyone to see MGS4/5 or FFvXIII on Xbox 360, because PS3 also got some of the big Xbox 360 third-party exclusives like Ninja Gaiden 2, Tales of Vesperia, Bioshock, Lost Planet...etc.

What I think will be surprising is to see Microsoft securing an exclusivity of an expected multiplatform title, like seeing MS announce the next big Valve title for Xbox 360, or securing Modern Warfare 2 exclusivity (timed or extra DLCs), or the next Level-5 project, or the next Bethesda Softworks title...etc.

Anyone really would be shocked to see Versus XIII on Xbox 360 after seeing XIII heading over to Xbox 360? Or seeing MGS4 port after a year and a half? I really don't think these would do anything more than fueling fanboys, but I guess Microsoft really cares about fueling fanboys... So anything can happen actually. -_-
