Forums - Gaming - Is Mars coming to the Xbox 360 also?

For some reason I thought Mars was a PS3 and PC only game.  MSxbox-world.com has posted some 360 screenshots of the game. Anybody know if this is a console multi-platform game?  It uses Sony's Phrye Engine, but it wouldn't be the first time a Phyre Engine game was released on the 360 (Collin McRae's DiRT).

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

My Bet - Those screens are fake.

So far It's PS3/PC. The dev's say that they'll only do a 360 version if the publisher that picks them up wants them to.

4 ≈ One

I think there was some confussion, but Spiders have said they would do a 360 version if it was required by their publisher.

I think both of you are correct. These screenshots were released in March on Spider's site, and it still lists PS3/PC as the only platforms.

This site would have been interesting today if the game went multiplat.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

Other sites are reporting that it is coming to the 360/PS3/PC at the end of 2010. It looks like it is multi-plat. Xbox-world just reposted the PS3/PC images, but failed to mention the press release.

Probably. Eurogamer did it as well.

What's Mars? (other than a planet) Would be my first question... lol

@ Squall

ARPG taking place on Mars

Not yet officially announced...

Let me show you what Spider's official website has on it....

Game Facts

Platforms : PS3/PC
Genre : Action RPG
Number of players : up to 4 player in arena mode
Developer : Spiders
Publisher : -
ESRB : not yet rated

There is no sign nor inclination of a 360 version. The press release that supposedly says it will be on 360 happened before the game even started to be developed. I think the game will stay PS3 console exclusive for a few reasons...

A. Its developed on a Sony based engine(although MP engine). This means the game will work best for the PS3 and fit more seamlessly into the architecture.

B. Sony knows they are lacking exclusive RPGs. They must be doing something in order to hold on a few. Spider's site still says they dont have a publisher. My geuss the publisher is going to be Sony(to be revealed at E3), the fact they put a PS3 mock case on their site screams it.

C. Exclusives get more attention. This is a new IP, by an even newer developer. People will be reserved on this game because of the lack of faith in the developers. Everyone knows PS3 gamers pay more attention to their exclusive content(mostly because exclusives are generally better then MP games). This is not to say 360 gamers dont pay attention to their exclusives, but It WONT be exclusive to 360, so thats out of the question. That leaves exclusive to PS3 if they want a break out hit.
