Forums - Nintendo - Paper Mario: the Thousand Year Door totally had me fooled! *SPOILERS*

I think the stage destruction is what makes it so unique though. Can be unforgiving sometimes though lol.

Btw, there's limited inventory space (only 10 items where you are now) but if you do the Pit of 100 Trials (which I'd recommend you don't until you beat the game) you can get 20 items in your inventory. But you probably won't be able to beat it with only 10 inventory spaces so you'll need to come out and prepare because it's really tough. You need lots of Ultra Shrooms (50 HP heal) and that one honey jelly item thing which heals 50 FP. I got these items from playing a ton of games at the casino :P

It's not hard getting the 20 item bag it's only on level 50 just time consuming...lots and lots of time...

Former something....

Actually, the Creepy Steeple area is great for leveling up when you're at the end of the game. Amazy Dayzees are great ways to rack up the experience when you're at higher levels. You just have to figure out how to beat it in one turn (It'll run away from battle more often than not).

My way of doing things was to use Mario's Spring Jump attack (with some Power Plus badges for extra oomph) and then use Goombella's Rally Wink to give Mario an extra turn and make sure the Amazy Dayzee is done for.

Oh why did I only play mario kart double dash and metroid prime 2 on my gc :(

Why haven't I bought this game yet? It sounds awesome!!

The Pit of 100 Trials made me a man.

Toughest boss in the game easily. I had to come out a couple of times because the earlier floors really trick you into underestimating the later ones. This side-quest was the last thing I did before going on to finally beat the game, so I was pretty nicely leveled too.

I did most of the Pit before I cheesed and abused Danger but when I did it I made it a point to always come out after finding something good.  I forget which enemies they were but a few had some nasty attacks that could end your game in one turn while there was nothing you could do about it.

@ Soriku and WoW: What level was your Mario when you fought the boss in the Pit? And what was you level when you ended the game?

@Soriku - you had to be underleveled if you thought the final boss was harder...

EDIT: Nevermind.  You said you beat the Pit AFTER you finished the game.  So, that'd actually make sense.

Sounds awesome but I still need to play this game(I have it but I haven´t started yet)

I suddenly want to finish this game, but I got to the last boss 4 times in each file and couldn't do it :(

I just don't want to do the nessasary grinding to beat the shadow queen... :(

Anybody know a good way to get more 50HP mushrooms and 50FP Honey?

Guitar Hero 3/ Smash Hits

Don't remember my level but toward the end it didn't matter. When nothing in the game can hurt you, levels aren't that important. Once I hit that point, I blazed through the rest of the game enjoying the story and the quirky plot twists.

Also, I loved the leveling system in PM:TTYD and the original PM. It strongly encourages you to move when you've reached the right level for the area and discourages grinding. This keeps the game moving at a nice, swift pace.

Oh yeah, strategic use of badges really helps as well in this game. And I'm with WoW, I loved the leveling system - 100 XP per level up, SRPG style. I likes. Although I won't lie, I did grind out one extra level (100 rumbles to amass 100 XP)...
