What? You want evidence, you say? Proof? Oh, you'll even settle for anything at all to back up my claims with?

Sorry, don't need it. I'll just run around shoving my baseless speculation in people's faces and act like they're facts. That's the easiest way to get a point across, right?

Pretty much every hyped HD console title has at least sold 500k units.

Even those that were considered resounding failures ( Haze, Too Human). Heck even Lair sold 330k and it was released back when the user base was very very small...

No matter how good or bad they are, it's a given a HD title with some hype will sell at least 500k units...( doesn't mean it will make money with those sales though).

I agree. But isn't it a little too early to say Madworld won't sell 500K units?

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

Well it could not have sold less on ps360.

Already stated, and it wasn't funny the first time either.

Facts aren't supposed to be funny.

Trolling is, though.

Facts aren't trolling, even if you don't like them.

Here are the facts:

1. I make a thread where I satirize the treatment of MadWorld by applying absolutely no backup to anything I say and claiming it as fact. This is meant to show off how nonsensical such behavior is.

2. You proceed to do that very thing yourself.

The only thing we can deduce from this is that you're trolling. Or you didn't read the OP. Either way, I'll be regarding it as trolling until you back up your statements, and I think most other people will too.

So you are saying that madworld would do LESS than 170k on PS360? How about you back that up?

There is no way to prove that. But there is also no way to prove it would do more. It's your speculation against his.

I don't think MadWorld would have sold better on PS3 or 360. It's too gimmicky, to be frank. Come on, black and white with red blood and yellow text? They might as well stick a "niche" sticker on the front cover.

Besides, Wii games generally have scary legs, so it could possibly have a chance of considering maybe in the right circumstances reaching a million.

To answer the rest of your venting,

LittleBigPlanet would not sell better on Wii (it wouldn't run on Wii...if it did, they'd have to downgrade the graphics and physics, and downsize the level creator. And by then, you have a pretty crap game, which would not sell 2 million, even on the Wii)

MGS4 would not sell better on 360 (Obvious one. The Metal Gear fanbase is on PlayStation)

Killzone 2 would sell better on 360 (NA is shooter land, NA is 360 land. The 360 has double the PS3's userbase in America, plus Microsoft would be able to megaton advertise. No question). Incidentally, Resistance 2 would also sell better on 360.

Valkyria Chronicles would NOT sell better on Wii (There's really no reason why it should, niche is niche.)

Perfect Dark Zero on Wii...hmm. Tough one. On the one hand, it would be nothing more than a reasonably good FPS on both 360 and Wii, 360 is a much better FPS seller. On the other hand, it's a sequel to Perfect Dark... I would say it would sell better on 360 because hardcore Rare fans willing to buy something like Perfect Dark Zero probably don't own Nintendo consoles anymore.

I can, however, say with confidence that Tales of Vesperia, Blue Dragon, Infinite Undiscovery and Lost Odyssey would all have sold better on PS3 or Wii, because the PS3 has triple the 360's Japan userbase, and the Wii has heptuple (7x) the 360's Japan userbase. There, reasoning.

There's been little proof of original IP doing well on HD systems. Madworld wouldve done just as poorly on the HD systems. HD gaming fans are set in their ways and would have shunned it regardless

Assassins Creed, Bioshock, Mass Effect, LittleBigPlanet, Gears of War, Uncharted, Resistance, Dead Rising, Lost Planet, Motorstorm, Saints Row, Rock Band, Crackdown, Army of Two and Heavenly Sword not proof enough for ya?

How much of that is the XBox 360's "Amazing" ability to sell original IPs and how much of that is related to these games being highly rated very mainstream games with marketing budgets larger than the total budgets of No More Heroes, Okami and MadWorld combined?

Please, don't act like MadWorld wasn't advertised. MadWorld has been on TV since January!

MadWorld was advertized on small networks on off peak hours in a fashion designed to target "gamers" specifically ... There are several games in OkeyDokey's list that received heavy advertizing on major networks durring prime-time. While I don't want to estimate the cost difference between the two strategies, taking a similar approach to what Sega took with MadWorld you can get national exposure for a couple of thousand dollars per 30 second time slot, and (at the same time) an approach similar to the one taken by games on OkeyDokey's list can cost hundreds of thousands (and potentially over $1 Million) for a 30 second time slot.

Seriously, don't pretend that the MadWord commercial you saw while watching a re-run of Startrek cost the same as Sony's massive marketing campaign for the PS3 that heavily featured Little Big Planet, Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted and Resistance ...  Not to mention the two months of constant commercials that followed the release of Gears of War.

Which is exactly why the PS3 and 360 versions would not outsell the Wii version, which is what I've been saying from the beginning.

Of course, even if the PS3 and 360 versions ended up with 500k each, and the Wii version had 300k, the HD versions would be a failure, because they were heavily hyped and did not deliver, while the Wii version would be niche, and would have sold better than expected.

I'm not calling MadWorld a failure, but...come on, some people think Resistance 2 is a failure with 1.56 million sales, and some crazy people think LBP is a failure with 2 million. If those two are failures, how can a game selling 170k copies (granted, it's only been out a few weeks, but both games had around 650k by that point) on a console with a far larger userbase be considered a success?

You really have no way of knowing the bold.  I was a huge Rare fan back in the SNES and N64 days, and I only own a Wii.

The same way that if the Dark Knight only had 1 million viewers would be a failure, but if Eraserhead had 100K would be an huge success ;)

Just to be clear, I just put some random titles on random different consoles and threw it together. I don't actually believe the stuff I said (or maybe I do, I haven't even thought about it at all).

In response to your JRPG stuff... I agree that several of them probably would, but I honestly do not think that Lost Odyssey would've sold better on another console. NA sales did a lot for that title.
