There's been little proof of original IP doing well on HD systems. Madworld wouldve done just as poorly on the HD systems. HD gaming fans are set in their ways and would have shunned it regardless

Assassins Creed, Bioshock, Mass Effect, LittleBigPlanet, Gears of War, Uncharted, Resistance, Dead Rising, Lost Planet, Motorstorm, Saints Row, Rock Band, Crackdown, Army of Two and Heavenly Sword not proof enough for ya?

How much of that is the XBox 360's "Amazing" ability to sell original IPs and how much of that is related to these games being highly rated very mainstream games with marketing budgets larger than the total budgets of No More Heroes, Okami and MadWorld combined?

Please, don't act like MadWorld wasn't advertised. MadWorld has been on TV since January!

MadWorld was advertized on small networks on off peak hours in a fashion designed to target "gamers" specifically ... There are several games in OkeyDokey's list that received heavy advertizing on major networks durring prime-time. While I don't want to estimate the cost difference between the two strategies, taking a similar approach to what Sega took with MadWorld you can get national exposure for a couple of thousand dollars per 30 second time slot, and (at the same time) an approach similar to the one taken by games on OkeyDokey's list can cost hundreds of thousands (and potentially over $1 Million) for a 30 second time slot.

Seriously, don't pretend that the MadWord commercial you saw while watching a re-run of Startrek cost the same as Sony's massive marketing campaign for the PS3 that heavily featured Little Big Planet, Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted and Resistance ...  Not to mention the two months of constant commercials that followed the release of Gears of War.
