Forums - Nintendo - Namco talks Tekken for the Wii

As someone who loves Tekken, I would never buy a Tekken game for the Wii.

Why not? After DOA it's the most casual fighter out there.. fits perfectly with the Wii.... :)

They should work with Capcom to make Tekken vs Streetfighter.

I would actually say that SC is also more casual than Tekken...

In any case, I can't see the control scheme working too well. That would be my main concern (some people will surely cite graphics, but eh, it's a fighting game. I don't think graphics are that important). I have a Wii and I don't have a PS3 or a 360, but Tekken 6 happens to be one of the games that will make me buy an HD console when it's released.

:O that would be great. Although I don't really like tekken, it would be good for wii owners to be able to buy it.

Hope it comes to the wii

I never understood why there has been such a lack of traditional fighters on the Wii.

Yes, there are less buttons to use, but with propper gestures mapped to attacks, a fighter like Tekken could be awesome fun on the Wii.

haha.. stop it... your killing me. well i hope namco makes a tekken wii.

Actually, a control scheme for Tekken would be easy to do for the Wii. Use the D-pad, which is programmable, A and B buttons on the Wii remote in combination with the Nunchuck, which also has two buttons.

But I feel that Namco will not green light a Tekken project nor will they green light a Soulcalibur project for the Wii. These guys are so focused on the standard controller that they will not experiment with the Wii remote and Nunchuck.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

Never much cared for Tekken, but this seems like one of those things where they're really just paying lip service.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

If I was a developer, I'd certainly put games like Tekken and Street Fighter on PS2, Wii, and Xbox 360 at the same time. It makes little sense, not to. I could understand things like not releasing Xbox 360 versions in Japan, though.
