How can anyone compare Halo to God of War? Halo is much more popular.



Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

But in the end sales don't make a game more popular, the game could be bundled (which i heard GT3 was heavily bundled) or the game could be on a system with a larger intall base.  Its all about how well known a game is or how many people play it on a constant day to day basis. 

Now that i thoroughly owned you in all aspects in this matter, lets stop this petty fight or at least call it off until GT5 comes out where we will actually have current gen proof

Actually yes it is, pets are universal male/female old and young.  As diverse as GT fabase is its not appealing as a cute little puppy.  Nin dogs tapped into a young female market, Gt will never do that though females are becoming more and more interested in cars.

All Halos were bundled kid, thats what sold the damn console.  Halo bundles is the reason that the original xbox even managed to out sale the freaking PS2 for a few weeks.

 Yeah GT5 sales will most likely prove what i have gone into great lengths to describe to you.  So i'm done arguing with you as you are a blind idiot that will never see the truth.

I hate to say it to ya, but Nintendogs IS more popular than Halo 3, sorry. Sales DO decide this.

 



The Halo francise is the most overrated bland game to ever hit the console market. It provides a bad name to all FPS that even showed effort at creating an original entertaining plot.

I probably have more ps3 games than you :/

But honestly what i mean by that is game sales do have something to do with popularity but you should not base popularity on the sales alone...my bad i worded wrong.  but hopefully you will see what i mean by that.

Hmm that was rather harsh now that i think about it. My bad if i offended anyone. I'm pretty calm now lol, i have to say i haven't gotten that angry over any topic for a long time. I think i'll just go play some videogames now lol.

Kids have no understanding of time and the fact that by 2004 GT3 was no longer in production since GT4 took over. GT3 came out on maybe 12 million user base ?

It took years for GT3 to reach 15 million and the PS2 was selling in record breaking numbers. The PS3 is not.

Sales really do show popularity of a certain game....Not quality.   You're confused.  In that context,  Gran Turismo (the Franchise) is far more popular than the Halo Franchise.  User base doesn't matter in the argument.  Why?  It doesn't matter. More people have owned and played Gran Turismo in some iteration...instead of Halo. (It's more popular by that alone).     Additionally...I wasn't aware that Gran Turismo 3 released so recently...

 

Give it up kid.  You love Halo and that's wonderful.  It's a good game. It's just less popular than Gran Turismo.

I didn't read this whole thread but for the original question, the answer is pretty simple, no those 2 games will not sell as much as Halo3 on the opening week.
GOD3 even if its getting excellent reviews will not sell as much, no games on the PS3 sold very well in the first week and FF13 just doesn't have the massive hype that Halo had.



My favorite games for this gen:

1. Gears of War    2. MGS4    3. Killzone 2   4. Halo 3(Underated by many)      5. Mass Effect
