I didn't read this whole thread but for the original question, the answer is pretty simple, no those 2 games will not sell as much as Halo3 on the opening week.
GOD3 even if its getting excellent reviews will not sell as much, no games on the PS3 sold very well in the first week and FF13 just doesn't have the massive hype that Halo had.
My favorite games for this gen:
1. Gears of War 2. MGS4 3. Killzone 2 4. Halo 3(Underated by many) 5. Mass Effect
