I think Uematsu did his best in FFVIII and IX and then went downhill (with a few exceptions like to Zanarkand). Liberi Fatali and Fake love are unforgettable, the stuff I heard from LO and Blue Dragon is boring and uninspired. It does nothing for me, brings no emotions.

I am not a fan of Hamauzu, but Shimomura has long surpassed Uematsu in my opinion.

I was waiting for this and to be honest it's very sad. These sort of comments give this site a bad name. I am sorry if this really is your genuine opinion, but to many people hate on LO because it's on 360 and not a Square Enix game.

If you look around the internet on Forums, especially the hundreds of comments on Youtube, many Uematsu fans think LO is some of his best work ever. And to be honest it is. How you can say it's not emotional is beyond me. It's probably the most emotional stuff he has done. Heres some comments from Nobuo's long standing listeners.

"yeah, definitely the best battle theme ever created. it's so ominous and just epic."

"This song is the most epic battle song in any JRPG, simply the best."

"The crescendo in this song is just incredible. Gets me every time."

"I've never played this game, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the depth of it's music. Maybe I'll pull another "Baten Kaitos" and buy it just because the soundtrack is so amazing."

"You aren't the only one....The music is deeply moving and most the "Dreams" leave me emotional....It's why I love this game and what sets it apart from the others i've played"

And theres literallly hundreds of amazing comments per song on the soundtrack. It's the most emotional music I think he's written. It has to be, because it's without a doubt the most emotional Jrpg ever made.

And too many people are elitists like yourself who hate on FF and everything surrounding it just because it's phenomenally popular. See - it works both ways. And I'd say it's gamers like you who give the whole internet gaming community a bad rep. People who can't stand it when someone has a different taste in games or even music.

And what are you trying to prove me with your "there are a lot of people who appreciate LO" comments? That you are not alone in loving this game? I am sure you are not. But the fact that you are a resident here at vgchartz suggest that you do realize that I am not alone in loving FF either. I have a different opinion and LO's music sounds boring to me. Deal with it.

Some interesting point:

* You only control one active characters during battle; everyone else is controlled by the ai.

* Chaining combo doesn't just involved individual character, to maximize your fighting ability, you must learn how to draw out the ai controlled characters 'follow up' attack. I assume this is a bit like affinity. "If I hit someone into the air, A will shotgun his ass and B will shove a pointy stick up it when the target falls" etc.

* HP will be fully recovered at the end of each battle: each battle will be tough and design to not allow cheap and painless wins.

* 720p 30FPS, minimal load time.

Some very interesting facts, I especially want to see how the HP recovery will effect gameplay, this could open many avenue but could also be game breakin if not done correctly...

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sound like FFXII all over again wich is BAD

Why this? it will make the games way to easy.

Guess they don't call the number 13 unlucky for nothing

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

@ Soriku. Hamauzus stuff sounded better. Well out of all the music you posted here only 2 tracks had an influence from Hamauzus.

Nobuo Uematsu wrote every piece for FF1, FF4, FF5, FF6, FF 7, FF 8 and FF 9 all on his own.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobuo_Uematsu

And almost all fans say that FF10 is where the music started going downhill. ( But the music for Zanarkand is very good. )

Man this site isnt getting kudos points here with silly comments. It's fine if it's opinion. But talking to musicians and other players elsewhere you dont get this LO crap thing all the time. It's quite sad.

Is that FFXIII battle theme the final one? hope not beacuse that was bad really bad.

Why post that. I suggest you look at my profile to my faveourite games.

The difference is, I think there some amazing FF games. FF2, FF6, FF7, FF9. I'm just not sucked in to hype. It's not that I think all the others suck either. FF10 was good as was FF8. But I can comfortably say that FF1, FF3, FF4 and FF12 were not great games.

And you mention me liking the game? I'm talking about the music. As an ex 1st violinist from the Brisbane youth orchestra in Australia, orchestral music touches me greatly. And if I had to pick a piece for the conductor, full of saddness and emotion. Lost Odyssey is one of the first places I'd go. I am a fully graded violinist. Not something I normally shout about. But I will give you my real name and send you footage of me to proof it privately if you want.

Don't know...I think it sounds decent. Pales in comparison to the Sigma Harmonics track I posted though. And FF VIII/IX's battle themes.

You and many others will probably love this. It certainly brings back chills for me. But live orchestra always kicks the arse off CD.

Yes, and you do like it. And look, it's not like you've entered this thread because you are interested in the game being discussed, just like another certain someone currently trolling in here. That's what matters. And with that you shouldnt have expected me to give you a welcoming respond.

And being a fully graded violinist, whilst sure is cool, doesnt make your opinion on the music any better than mine.

Look I'm really sorry. I did say in my original post about this if it is your opinion then thats fine. It's just generally that alot of people slate on LO whether it's music or not they never give it any credit. And alot of it is down to the fact it's not FF. But I certainly dont mean to undermine your musical taste. I hope my apology to you is accepted. :)

I can understand your point about people slating on LO for nothing, because, well, I feel the same about recent Final Fantasy titles. And no apologies needed, I wasnt offended. It's the internet after all.
