The initial shipment in Japan should be 2 millions. Overall I expect the original version to sell 7 millions worldwide.

If I am not mistaken they said at last years GDC that they have about 400 people working on the game. EDGE says there are about 200 people working on just cutscenes.

I'm not sure but that is probably the most disheartening thing I have ever heard.

Yes, Public Sudoku is a lot more family friendly and accessable than Public Seppuku, thus bringing in the Blue Ocean market. Puzzle solving is definitely the "in" thing now-a-days anyways. Ritualistic suicide is so last year. I'm glad we're on the same page here.

Whether or not it was intentional from wfz, it's hilarious either way.

The sudoku thing is at about 2:28, but the whole video is hilarious.

From what I've seen, Badgenome started it quite a while ago, once I saw it I instantly caught on and I've used the term whenever this FF13 stuff pops up. From theprof00's post, I thought it was fairly obvious that he knew it as well, since what he said almost comes directly from the video. It's always nice to see more users catching on! I'm surprised Rol didn't know before now. :P

It's just too much fun to say, and there is always going to be some smart alec or sarcastic person who quotes it and replies. Always.

Thats just... damn XD biggest team working on a game ever ?

Check out my game about moles ^

Well the average JRPG sales this generation is below 500k, so I think 5 million is a conservative expectation.

You think having such a juggernaut that eats so much resources is bad for them? Well, maybe. But it's not like they have any choice. I cant even imagine the outcry on the internet should FFXIII have Lost Odyssey or Last Remnant level of graphics.

I'm not surprised it have been developed since 2004.

2005 we saw the first pictures.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

I wouldn't say development started that early. They might have been throwing ideas around, but the PS3 dev kits weren't even available until early 2006.

You're right, of course, but all I can think of is how much of a financial burden the Fabula Nova Crystalis project must be. With that many people working on one game, suddenly the DS remakes make more sense: they need that money to fuel this project.

It's kind of terrifying.

Well, they have had some big hits on both handhelds. Dissidia and Crisis Core have both sold very well.
