Oh, that reminds me, whenever you get a chance, pick up the Phoenix Wright games. They're nothing short of amazing.

Wait for Platinum. Also Poemon Ranger 2 is quite fun. The video posted above does not really show the game because the person playing sucks immensly.
You could always get an American copy of Platinum from ebay. But I really don't think the improvements between D/P and Platinum are as big as those from R/S to Emerald - although it's still the better version.
You should definitely get Zelda: Phantom Hourglass as one of your three, and as for a third either The World Ends With You, Mario Kart or Sonic Rush. Those rank as my top 5, but there are other good games like the Final Fantasy remakes or Mario that you can’t go wrong with.
Or trust those of us who hated the game after being peer-pressured by people like Soriku into buying the game.
:P

Thanks for all the games
So far its Pokemon Platinum, NSMB, Pheonix Wright/Pokemon Ranger2, TWEWY, Zelda : PH.
Also... whats the best Final Fantasy for DSi i could get?

I have heard Final Fantasy IV is the best.

*cries out in agony*
Nooooooo! Soriku has won!

I was disappointed with Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles - Ring of Fates, but both FF III and IV were good. IV is easily the more fleshed out of the two though
