Maybe it's thanks to them slashing the price of dev kits by 80% ?

This might be incentive only for very small studios working on PSN titles for someone like EA or Ubi cost diffrence is insignifican't

Oh... People made it sound like this was a helpful incentive for all devs. But you are probably right, all the big devs already have it.

no ones talking about the games being system seller. and there is no reason to downplay the games just cause they are on the 360 in some fashion. more games to play is always a good thing

The thread directly implies that Sony has in some way pulled rabbits out of a hat despite their troubled financial state in order to produce announcements of high quality expensive games.

The fact that most of them are third party ports of games that already exist is pretty relevant.

This thread isn't implying 'high quality' games at all.  What this thread did directly imply was that (Microsoft represenatives) as well as posters around here have been acting like third party support and game support in general is going to die off for the PS3.

With this recent spat of announcement after announcement.  (No matter how big or how small).   That implication from others has been proven pretty false.

If anything, Sony is getting MORE support recently than ever before.  Probably because they are standing strong sales wise despite being in a clear disadvantage and in terms of hardware, The PS3 is best suited for a long term 'dig your heels in' type of battle.

exactly.

MS claimed 4 months ago that all 3rd party support for PS3 will go away in 09 and look what happened.3rd party support has never been this strong for PS3 before.

They're taking some of that Crystal Meth that Criterian's using to crank out Burnout Content.

4 ≈ One

Hopefully people realise that so many great games are coming out, so that there is an increase in sales

The PS3 has crossed the 20m mark. Games get bigger year after year. The 360 went with DVD which is approaching it's limits. Since the PS3 has a userbase of well over 20million 3rd party developers can stretch their imaginations and keep on creating bigger and bigger games without having to worry about not making enough sales. When the PS3 only had 10million 3rd party developers would be taking a risk making a PS3 exclusive.  There is little reason for the 3rd party developers to constrict their creations to the limits of DVD, as opposed to Bluray. The next 5-6 years will be great for the PS3. IMO.

What he said.Plus alot of developers are starting development on ps3 first for multiplat games and then porting them over to xbox.I heard Infinity Ward have been using PS3 as there lead platform and they announced at GDC09 Modern Warfare 2 will look visually better on PS3.All it takes is one game like Killzone 2 that shows the power of PS3 to get developers on board wanting to match that and with xbox360 thats just not possible

Its sony they can do anything!!!!!!!!!!!

Being a cricket fan is much simpler and more fun

The main factor is the price cut, it has not happened which has saved Sony a lot of $$$. Sony are spending this money on making games so instead to cutting the price of the console to sell systems, they are making big budget games to sell systems.

Pretty clever way to go, then when PS3 parts get cheaper Sony will be able to do both a price cut as well as make great games.

What both said, plus now that PS3 starting to steal 360 exclusives (Tales of Vesperia, Ninja Gaiden 2 Stigma etc plus more from SquareEnix) but without money hating like M$ :) plus countless new announcements (lately Sony been announcing it on a weekly basis!!! like the title) Expect to see PS3 catching up to 360 library faster than we imagine, even though PS3 has far superior games diversity/innovative than the 360's

Guess it time to put this

PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E
