Does anyone know if the Wii's Opera supports Youtube's HD feature?

no, it's still flash 7, even if it did, it'd be too slow for it.

that's what i was trying to say, the resolution may change from a small screen to a big one
anyway, Wii looks alright as it is (on a 42" tv with component in my case), sure 720p is cool, but playing on the emulator instead of the original sucks, most games don't play or run at slow speed, no need to bother
don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^
This is a smoke cloud, because the textures and images were made to be watched on 480p, meanwhile 720p haven´t any real support, to make graphics better you must start re-making graphics, it´s just like sume that Wii can display Gears of Wars 2 on 480p, because can´t make more visual effects, poligons or textures.
There aren´t any real upgrades, I just keeping playing on my Wii.
mario kart wii on dolphin looks like slow motion compared to the wii version, but the rsolution is nice tho

Improvements are caused by people who complain
Objectively, by looking at the HD version of the video, it does look quite better than your usual 480p Wii output. Let's forget for a moment about playing Wii games on a PC, because emulation glitches and framerate and controls could make that spotty...
This video is the simplest proof that games on Wii _could_ have been looking better if Nintendo had put some beefier hardware in their console _without spending a cent more in games development_
Let that sink in, because the usual counterargument to an HD Wii is that "HD development costs 4 times more" an that would have been a deadly weight on the game developers.
Well, here's a game that would have looked better at no extra development cost if only Nintendo had accepted a slightly lesser margin per console sold.
I don't feel comfortable knowing that.

We don't really know what their profit margin was, and whether a faster GPU would erase it or not.
The GPU would have to be quite a lot faster to have this kind of graphics (heavy AA, double the number of pixel computations and more memory). Then the Wii would consume more power, and maybe require bigger fans and a bulkier case.

@NJ5
I remember reading that the Wii was having a margin of about $40 per console _at launch_.
Considering that its GPU did cost less than 30$ - again at the time - I don't see how having a 720p capable GPU could eat up that margin.
At the time I bought an Nvidia series 5 card for my PC for $68 _in a shop_, and that could run HL2 Lost Coast and Ep1 with all of their HDR effects at resolutions higher than 720p and framerates higher than 60fps.
Can we suppose that Nintendo could buy equivalent GPUs from ATI for about $40 each? That cuts $10 from a margin that was $40 at launch, but is probably even greater today.

That would erase a significant part of Nintendo's profit margin on the consoles, besides making it harder to make the console so small. All of this to cater to around 20% of the market (HDTV market share in USA if I remember correctly).
