Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo: core gamers can`t never be satisfied

No, wait a second, then he kinda talked shit about Phantom Hourglass.

Get ready, Erik Aston.

Pistols at dawn.

(I am kidding, I am sure you enjoyed the game)

I don't think that Nintendo understands what "core" games are. They think it's games like "Animal Crossing" or "Wii Fit". Tell me when you see a "Animal Crossing" tournament at Blockbuster, then it's a hardcore game. Do they think they can just let their fan base disappear? The fan base I'm talking about is the fans of the original Nintendo, not the fan base of moms, grandmas, rich girls living in penthouses, or kids under twelve. I currently only own a Wii, but Nintendo's losing me fast. I think I'm getting an Xbox next time around.

Chicken wings are best with buffalo sauce. If you haven't tried that you haven't lived! It's a proven fact, well, not really.

We need to find definitions for "hardcore" and "core" that we can all agree on. I'd suggest just throwing them out altogether, but I'm sure they do serve a realistic purpose.

....like what exactly?

I'm sure he was just pointing out on how Nintendo took the easy way out when making Phantom Hourglass.

I would use "Sold out" but I feel a little too strong.

Elaborate on what you mean? I'm not sure I understand.

They took a few steps backward. Old school Zelda fans certainly loved the transition back to a bird's eye view. It made the game work on a handheld.

I still hold the opinion that it was dumbed down for handhelds.

Nintendo execs are so arrogant....let the guy finish a second, seems Nintendo is happy selling low budget games like Wii Sports, Wii Music, Wii Fit, Wii Play and Wii Sports Resort (a sequel to a demo of the Wii, how sad).

PREDICTIONS:
(Predicted on 5/31/11) END of 2011 Sales - Xbox 360 = 62M;  PS3 = 59M;  Wii = 97M

Well, I mean, in what way was it dumbed down? The puzzle solving was better than in any other 2-D Zelda (and a couple of 3-D ones), the boss fights were very creative and enjoyable...

A term to define gamers who hate the new direction gaming is going and mainly only like the "traditional" games they've been getting for years on end. Gamers who basically only like "Bigger and better", more technically advanced games.

Then again, I don't see why it's crucial to identify them as some special group, considering there are many different types of gamers who have different preferences, and if we're going to lump the rest of them together, we might as well lump the "hardcore" gamers in with them. Either that or start making a bunch of classifications for different kinds of gamers, and then give everyone a label to walk around with.

Yeah, I don't really see the point. That doesn't mean that there doesn't exist a point I missed, however.

Well, yes I'm comparing it the recent Zeldas (or the 3D ones) and it was dumbed down from that.
