I don't think that Nintendo understands what "core" games are. They think it's games like "Animal Crossing" or "Wii Fit". Tell me when you see a "Animal Crossing" tournament at Blockbuster, then it's a hardcore game. Do they think they can just let their fan base disappear? The fan base I'm talking about is the fans of the original Nintendo, not the fan base of moms, grandmas, rich girls living in penthouses, or kids under twelve. I currently only own a Wii, but Nintendo's losing me fast. I think I'm getting an Xbox next time around.
Chicken wings are best with buffalo sauce. If you haven't tried that you haven't lived! It's a proven fact, well, not really.
