Sony's looks better. The N must be mad about that.

According to Phil Harrison Sony started developing this service years ago on the PS2.

PS3 vs 360 sales

It really does look like a good system...but it could get old, or people might not catch on as much as we expect...we'll see.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

It's sony, it just might. One paper said a long time ago when the PS2 took off, "Sony can do no wrong, even if they are very wrong." This is sony and somebody will buy it. They can sell ice to eskimos if they wanted to.

You don't get it, do you? Wii gamers aren't looking for the most advanced graphical interface so why would this bother them? Mii's don't even have legs half the time but do you hear any of us complaining? Interesting how the exec or rep wasn't named in the article and how the author made an assumption at the end. In journalism, you never assume. If you don't know their context, you ask. I'm sick of half assed journalists with no skills reporting in this industry.

Well that doesn't really mean much Mike. Phil Harrison is like Perrin Kaplan of Nintendo, you can't take either of them at their word. Both of them have been caught stating something that was deemed incorrect/untrue several times. Phil nor Perrin seem to be in the loop. Phil saying rumble was last gen the day before Sony settled with Immersion points to this. Not to mention the BS about Sony always intending on putting the motion sensitivity in the Sixaxis, when developers were told about at it a week to 10 days before E3. As for Perrin, her "Wii region free statement" comes to mind as well as the 'component cables being available from retailers at launch" snafu. In others words, citing a corporate talking head that has proven unreliable isn't a good idea.

Get a clue. Have you seen the sales numbers in the past, oh, 3 and a half months? I doubt Nintendo has time to be mad about anything with all the time it takes to count their mountains of cash.
HappySqurriel said: It probably isn't a copy of Nintendo's Miis but I wouldn't doubt that Nintendo discounted this approach already ... For the most part systems like Playstation Home have existed since the mid 90's (in some form or another) and have failed ... Now, a large portion of this is probably because they're poor implementations but I think there are certain limitations to a system like this preventing it from being more popular.
My thoughts exactly.

This was clarified. The warhawk devs knew about the change in the controller and programmed for it. They did not program the sensitivity in 10 days. They just tweaked it because it was thier first hands on experience with the controller so they could troubleshoot. Phil spoke about rumble and why he said what he had to say and I have posted links about how far back home was mentioned. http://www.gamevideos.com/video/id/9879 Posted on 5-27-2005: "SCEA and SOE are developing MMORPG (something similiar to ffxi) style online service for PS3 right now. It will have online pack which it comes with HDD and the online software. You can go online and chat with people like mmorpg style. Your stats will have the list of games you have and scores(or ranks) for each game, and other great things. And if you want to look for someone to play online for certain game, you have to go to this certain area(or town) for that specific game or the game will automatically takes you to that town. Sony thinks "hyper links" technology is a history. They want to create a "virtual world" for PS3 online service where people can actually interact each other like mmorpg style. There are more great details, but this is all I can get for now. I'm not expecting you to believe me ." http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=ps3&message.id=14848&view=by_date_ascending&page=1

I will have to get another Sixaxis now. I never liked rumble that much, some shooters excluded, but mostly just for gunning, IMO often rumble was used too much or improper in many games, I don't need my hands vibrating when I die. I wish they could have added a switch on Dual Shock and Sixaxis controllers to easily turn it off, instead of having to do so manually for games.

I think it matters if Sony copied Nintendo,(from the post with the link I don't think they did) but what matters is if people really buy into this other wise it will not be very good for Sony. And another thing is will Sony really bring all of those features to the table when PSH releases.
