You don't get it, do you? Wii gamers aren't looking for the most advanced graphical interface so why would this bother them? Mii's don't even have legs half the time but do you hear any of us complaining?
Interesting how the exec or rep wasn't named in the article and how the author made an assumption at the end. In journalism, you never assume. If you don't know their context, you ask. I'm sick of half assed journalists with no skills reporting in this industry.
