Forums - Nintendo - Virtual console arcade wish list

Mario Kart will never appear on it. I actually will be surprised if games even as recent as Killer Instinct ever make the cut; I think that it's very clear from Nintendo's general presentation and announcement that this section will remain an ultra-retro throwback to the earliest arcade hardware.

Mark my words, the releases will all come from the 80's and maaaaybe reach as far as the mid-90's, if we're lucky.

Run 'n Gun.

Loved that game.

Me too!  That game was awesome.  They could make it two players on one screen, online play against two players on another Wii.  That would rule.

Anyway:

Golden Axe II: Revenge of Death Adder

X-Men (6-player version - in HD!)

TMNT

TMNT: Turtles in Time

Gauntlet Legends

NBA Maximum Hangtime

Steel Talons

Shinobi

Street Fighter II Turbo (HD?)

Crime Fighters

Run 'N Gun

Mortal Kombat II

MERCS

Magic Sword

Final Fight

U.N. Squadron

Hydra

Quiz & Dragons (2- or 4-player online would be fun)

Knights of the Round

King of Dragons

Mario Kart Arcade (since I've never had the chance to try it)

The Simpsons (oh please, oh please)

EDIT:  ooh, forgot Dungeons & Dragons and Dungeons & Dragons II!!

etc. etc.

By the way, Neo-Geo AES games are the exact same game as the MVS (arcade) games.  In fact, you can play arcade Neo-Geo carts in the home system with an adapter - I know since I have one.  So yes, they are "arcade-perfect" since they are the exact same thing.

F-Zero AX, Mario Kart Arcade GP

I don't think the Wii can emulate hardware that bad-ass.

Seriously. I don't think it's possible.

Yeah, it's too bad.

X-men Arcade (6 player)

Alien vs Predator

Marvel vs Capcom

TMNT2 Arcade

Simpsons

Darkstalkers

Raiden 2

Mortal Kombat 2 and 3

Radar Scope i wonder how good is it.

Lets hope it at least goes to mid 90s because we would miss out on so many classic early/mid 90s arcade games..

umm COMPLETE Donkey Kong

I wouldn't mind seeing the arcade versions of Marble Madness, Paper Boy and the full version of Donkey Kong(not the crappy short NES version), has been quite awhile since I have played those games.

i would say Streets of Rage and i don't think we will see games like Dead or Alive or HotD - they are simply too big for wii. i really don't think we will see any game from middle 90' arcade systems, but i really hope i'm mistaken(give me Daytona USA and Virtua Fighter)

So even if an arcade game from the mid to late 90's is small enough to run on the Wii, has no licensing issues & it'll still be rejected from being on the VCA all because it's not originally released in the 80's?

Besides, a few games that Namco is planning to release soon on the Japan VCA are Cosmo Gang the Puzzle & Cyber Sled, both of which are from the 90's. That fact alone dissaproves your theory.

I LIKE REDMOON ONLINE. IT'S TEH MOST AWESOMEST MMORPG.
