Thought Sony unofficially announced Strength of the Sword yesterday when detailing their PhyreEngine 2.40 update, Invent Games officially unveiled the game earlier today at GDC.  Strength of the Sword is a 3rd person action game, similar in design to beat 'em up games like Devil May Cry or God of War.  The game also features a very unique art design, offsetting the hyper violent action with a more Saturday morning cartoon look, similar to the PS2 cult hit, Mark of the Kri.

Strength of the Sword throws you into the sweaty codpiece of the muscle bound Strahil.  Formerly the leader of the Upper Kingdom, he was the victim of a conspiracy theory and tossed in jail.  Hungry for revenge, he escapes from jail and hatches a plot against those who put him there.

Strength of the Sword is due out for the PS3 and PC.  No release date for the title was mentioned.  Check out the game's website for concept art and more info.

lol,But i dont care what anyone says,its still an exclusive ,its just a PS3 HD console exclusive,like L4D is a 360 HD Exclusive.

“Strength of the Sword” (working title) is our first project. The game is 3rd person, fast paced, action beat ‘em up set in a fantasy realm. The game is currently in development for PC and PS3.

The player will take control over Strahil which is the main character in the game. Strahil is the former leader of the “Upper Kingdom” and the victim of a mean plot that led to his imprisonment in a dark cave.

As Strahil the player will have to advance trough four different locations set on the “Island of Dreams” and seek vengeance from the evil figures behind the plot that led to his imprisonment. Throughout his way he’ll have to deal with some mean enemies that prefer rather to die than surrender.

The battle system and the controls of the game will be easy to get and within a few minutes of game play the players will be comfortable with it. After some practice they’ll be able to pull of great combos and special attacks.
