Publishers prefer booming starts over long time sellers. Well, I'd imagine most would.
If you sell 1 million first week, and 1.5 million in total, you will have sold almost all your games at full price.
If you sell 100K first week, and then 50K/month for 28 months, chances are most of the sales will be at a reduced price.

my thing, as a gamer I like both, but there seems to be more emphasis on the leg part, when the boobs is just as good and sometimes better.

Of course, both a nice pair of boobs, and a nice pair of legs are great for me. Boobs are as important as legs.

I like legs better if they spread out. But boobs can be quite good too. It's always a factor if it has both. That makes both developers and everyone else happier.

There needs to be a good opening as well as long legs for it to be attractive to developers.



Now we just need somebody to come up with a handy metaphor that allows us to comment on how nice the games butt is and we will be really sad and nerdy.



You would think both publishers and retail would generally prefer games that games have large openings rather than sell their games through legs:

- It frees up valuable retail space
- It gives retailers their money quicker
- It saves publishers from having to have multiple smaller production runs which is almost always more costly
- Most games tend to drop in price over time so it can bring in less money for both retailer and publisher (depending on when the game was ordered/reordered)
- It makes for far less uncertainty for the publisher
