MGS4

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

@ Twestern

People just assume because I don't like Home, FFXIII, Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm, get random bugs on Killzone 2, and hate things with short battery life that automatically means I hate the PS3.

IMO the PS3 is an awesome console, I however also like the wireless PS3 controller (it's even good for re-playing old Amiga and Snes classics under Linux on the PS3!). IMO battery life is a minor issue, they last much longer than the longest play session I´ve ever had. Maybe buy this, so you can charge them when done gaming:

I like Home as well (even my dad liked playing some chess, my girlfriend already loves it), I see a lot of potential for Home, looking forward to that EA sports complex being worked on.

Has FFXIII even be released yet? I don't have much anticipation for this game neither, other than for tracking its sales potential.

Other things I like is its relatively sturdy nature (at least well within industry standards) and the fact that Blu-Ray discs don't scratch. I love the fact that every PS3 comes with a harddrive and Wi-Fi by default. Also anyone with an internet connection can easily play games online (about half of XBox 360 gamers can't connect to online games according to an internal Microsoft memo, simply because they don't pay extra for XBox Live gold)

The only real flaws I criticized the PS3 for is that there are no USB ports at the back (not that the 360 has them or anything, but IMO it's still a considerable flaw) and an immature firmware when the console launched and even some PS3 exclusives not using the Cell´s SPEs at all in the beginning.

I don't blame him for all the PS3 hate.

I've spent $700+ on the PS3 itself and games. I don't feel like I've got my money's worth yet. The PSN is pretty lousy and Home was completely dissapointing. I've only had it for about 5 months and I'm gettin a bit bored already. I think it's just my wallet though - gaming just feels way too expensive nowadays. I can't keep shelling out cash on games with little replay value.

Oh and what's with the upscaling DVD thing? I've only seen blu-rays on my PS3 so far. I thought DVD's had the same quality as 360's...

i'm probably a bit older than most....so trust me gaming has always been expensive......most consoles/games are quite abit of cash on launch down the years.....admittedly the PS3 is at the very high end for today......

i only have a PS3....but i did do some prices checks and you can get a 360arcade & GOW2 for £139.....which is roughly $200....not bad for an HDconsole and a pretty good action shooter if you like that sort of thing......

@ mikeB, I have that charging stand, it is really good, it also has extra USB ports so you can charge extra controllers if you need

am one o f those who thinks you hate the ps3. The thing is, nothing is perfect so if you are really a person that likes to criticize there are many things to criticize about every console but there are also good things most of the time, you criticize ps3 and ignore its achievements, but praise the wii and stuff as if the ps3 had nothing good and the wii had nothing bad.

other than that you are very funny and i like your post even when you are bashing the ps3, its just that you have to balance them, specially since you are a mod and is not cool to have a biased mod.

But there is one thing we have in common, our hate, aversion, disgust, distaste, horror, odium, repugnance, repulsion and revulsion for PS HOME, that alone makes you one of my favorites in the vgc community

Yep, unless you wanted to be stuck to a NES (launched in 1986/87 here in the EU) for gaming (on which most games were just horrible ports). The c64 costed 600 dollars in 1982 (which was very cheap compared to weaker competitors), the low end model Amiga 500 also released for 600 dollars in 1987.

Taking into account inflation 600 dollars in 1982 equals about 1274 dollars by 2007 and 600 dollars in 1987 equals about 1082 dollars by 2007. Note the PS3 launched for only 500 dollars, while costing much more to produce. Compared to past offerings it was and still is an amazing deal.
