You can really see the difference between the good characters from the bad characters in Brawl, it's unbelievable.

What was good in Melee is that every single character were good. You just had to practice with them. Sure, some of them shine more than anyone else (ex: Bowser, Ganondorf), but it's still easy to win against them with other characters (ex. Jigglypuff, Dr. Mario). Falco is no match to my Ganondorf, just saying! ;)

In Brawl, camping characters own everyone, it's not even funny. Just camp in a corner, spam your B shit, shield+grab when your enemy gets close to you, air combo, repeat. Sure, there are ways to get those characters out of there, but cheap players will play cheap with cheap characters. It's inevitable.

Before commenting on this, I suggest everyone tries Brawl+. New players might hate it because they will die too easily, old players will definitely prefer Brawl+ for the technical aspect of it. You can STILL PLAY casually in Brawl+. It is fun to find new combos with every characters now, because the stun rate is different, the gravity on some characters are lower, etc.

What does good/bad character mean??? That doesn't even exists

Falco in meelee was full of cheats (?) he was so fast, and the kicks were just too strong. He even had a back kick, that was so weird, that it just completely stop u.

i don't know who do u play with, but when i play with my friends we just go at it. No corners, no repetitiveness... we just play straight foward, so i don't see the complaing. In the videos u posted, they kept doing the same moves, and combos. And like you said, cheap players will play cheap.... no matter what. Brawl, meelee or brawl+, at the end it will be the same

I do believe brawl is more balanced.

Just because you are used to another version of the game and you prefer that version doesn't make it better.

L-canceling is wrong. You should plan your moves correctly and if you miss any, you should be punished for it. If your moves don't make a sequence, you won't be able to finish it.

I hate the tripping though...

Im good with Brawl, I would of given this a shot though, but I don't have the homebrew channel.

tag:"reviews only matter for the real hardcore gamer"

You can always put the hit/damage ratio in brawl to 1.1-1.2 to make the characters fly off faster but not too fast.

But the character doesn't move faster, though.

NO Brawl is already competitive the thing that i hate about it is the online. I can't find a single match it takes forever and it keeps saying "Your connection with your opponent is lost.". I wish they would fix it.

Yeah, the only thing i would change to brawl is the online (how come Mario kart has a great online and brawl doesn't?)

A few other decisions.... like the target test, i like meelee's better.... Board the platforms, getting all the bonuses like in meelee.... things like that

Yes, I do believe this "auto L-cancelling" stuff needs to be fixed in Brawl+. If you have any complaints about it, you should post at SmashBoards. I might do something about it, because it's too easy to make unbelievable combos now with ease. o_O

By the way, I said that they are keeping the best of both worlds. They are keeping stuff from Brawl and not adding other cheap stuff from Melee like wavedashing and crouch cancelling. Either way, you can add codes to activate those things in your own codeset, this is why they are made public by the way!

@ Maynard_tool:

Too good characters: Zelda, Pit, Meta Knight, Ike, Donkey Kong (he can tank and attack from behind with his punch? What?), Lucas, Wolf (fucking bastard), Snake.

Very bad characters: Ness, Captain Falcon (no move priority, what the hell?), pretty much all the old Melee characters (not Peach/Pikachu though. They're good).

It's easy to see the difference between them in Brawl.

Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

But what does it mean to be good or bad????

Simple:

First, notice the move priority. Example, Captain Falcon's Falcon Kick and Falcon Punch can be stopped with a simple A attack with every other characters! I mean, did they even notice that?

Second, notice characters that can easily abuse moves for no reason now. Example, Zelda can use her lightning kick with ease now, it's not even funny. Shield+Grabbing that move is easy, but when she's in the air while you're trying to air combo here, she can just pull out another lightning kick no problem. o_O

Third, notice how some characters can abuse Smash! attacks that are FAST and GOOD at the same time. Example, Wolf. Roll back, Smash! in the opposite direction, repeat. You can Shield+Grab that move, but it gets annoying after a while. Where's the technique there?

I could continue discussing this, but I'd prefer playing Brawl+. =P

Getting good with certain characters with practice is the case with every fighting game ever made...ever, and Brawls depiction of characters is far more balanced and fair the Melee, where characters like Roy and Falco were so overpowered as to be considerd brocken.

As far as unfair advantages toward campers go, yes you can select ROB and stay at the far side of a flat stage and spam everyone but then in melee you could choose Ness and do the same and because his attacks reached further in Melee made him even more unfair. Of course situations like these are exactly why Final Destination is banned from tournements. This was the case with Melee to so there was obviously the threat of spammers there as well.

Slowing down the speed was good for the game as it gave all the characters the same advantage despite their weight class. Essentialy everything they removed from Melee was for the better and made it into a far more fairly thought out competitive game, which is why I think Brawl is far better than Melee both from a content and gameplay perspective. To me it just seems as though the Smash Bros elitists just got used to the way of playing Melee over the years they see any change as bad, even if it's for the better.
