Mortal Kombat had dudes ripping off other dudes heads with their spine still attached. That was 1992. Gore has been in games for a long time if you don't like it go play Nintendogs.

Poor comparison, God of War is one of the best franchise currently avalable. Manhunt is trash.
The hell...This is supposed to make me want this game? no wonder that the general public sees games and gamers as something wierd and immature when devs go spouting idiocies like this on the web.
And seriously, if anyone is hyped for this game just because of said reasons: you need to seriously grow up/ admit that you have issues.
i'm with shams on this one, if i had a say in this, i would either ban the game or censor it.
If i lose access to this profile as well....I'm done with this site.....You've been warned!!.....whoever you are...
Happy Wii60 user. Me and my family are a perfect example of where hardcore meets casual and together mutate into something awesome.
I think people need to take this over-excessive violence and gore in the way it is intended.
For comparisons' sake, look at Quentin Tarantino's films.
Over-excessive violence? Sure, but if anything it's a trademark style that adds a unique creative touch to his work.
I doubt God of War III will be on the same level, either cinematically or otherwise, as those films, but I can't knock it for a creative decision such as this.

I don't like having too much violence but I don't consider it necessary to limit the freedom of speech in a case like this. Why, you might ask. Well, it's simple: We already have age restrictions and it ought to be enough. If not, it's definitely a problem only for those who don't follow the rules (stores selling these games to too young people and parents buying these games for their children).
Anyway, I've only played the demo of Chains of Olympus but otherwise I've completely missed the series. However, judging by what I've heard, this isn't exactly something this game needs. I suppose if they do it right it can't be bad either, though... Still, I think this would fit better for some horror game (of older games, Doom 3 would probably benefit from this feature). Nah, who really cares.
