Forums - Gaming - Casual games = Soulless games. Wii is not for me.

What I dislike about most Wii games is they really lack challenge. If they lack challenge the only thing left is story, a lot of games don't even have a story though, or a sorry excuse for one.

Play MadWorld on hard.

Play Wario Land and complete all the missions. It takes ages to learn and plan. It's great. Underrated, I reckon.

There's a few others that aren't totally straightforward, including the later levels on Galaxy.

Lets think first what do you remember from your earlier games.

Remember when Meryl got shot by Sniper Wolf in Metal Gear Solid?

Remember when Sephiroth killed Aeris in Final Fantasy VII?

Or not stuff like that, stuff like in games like Grandia where you have that weird happy face trought your whole adventure?.

These games and many more have changed my personality.

You've built a shrine around the games that you liked when you first started gaming and now you have an emotional investment in their descendents. This inclines you toview anything that is in competition with your enshrined games in a negative light.

I'm guilty of this too. I grew up during the NES and SNES generations and I viewed the Playstation and Playstation 2. To this day I can't help but feel that Sony products seem to be plagued by a sort of corporate blandness. I know it's not rational but I can't help but feel that kids raised in the Sony era lack appreciation for the things that made games great during my childhood.

I strarted gaming with Nintendo and then Super Nintendo...But first game that changed me was Metal Gear Solid..

I recently got Wii and I played some games.Much talk of casuals on Wii in here aswell..

First I played Resident Evil 4 which was great.

Then I played Wii sports,Wii play and SuperSmashBrosBrawl and hated them all.Wii sports and Wii play was fun but nothing more than few hours with friends. I just hated SuperSmashBrosBrawl because first its "story" was sooo kids fantasy world and contols were bad..It was ok with a friend.

Then I go to Mario Galaxy, 97 on metacritic. I really got angry in first missions and tried to play over hour but no way....I liked some Mario games I have played on Ds, Super Nintendo and CameCube and was really looking forward on this..

Zelda was pretty good but it's not enough.

Buts Its not all about Wii. I played LittleBigPlanet and again it was fun with friend and it has huge replay value but It doesn't have that soul.

So I hate Casual games since these are marked as a Casual games.

Good games need to have a soul.

Well I know everyones has a diffrent taste.

So I'm trading Wii back to Ps3 in next few week when my friend finishes its games.

I'm not gonna touch Wii ever again.

Try playing some of the games on the system.

I would never dismiss an entire console's software (and thusly the console itself) based on 1 game I enjoyed 2 casual games (1 of which is excellent, in my opinion) and brawl.

Also someone said that Wii is for younger players. I think then opposite. Most of the people I know that own one are over 30. There's plenty of young kids, female gamers and older people that have the system. Crikey, even young adult males have Wiis (though possibly less than have one of the other more powerful systems.

That's probably why so many forum gamers on the net failed to automatically like the Wii, which is just like the PS and PS2, the best selling console in their respective gens.

I don't really value the Wii at all.

I mean, Wii Tennis can be a laugh with 3 mates, but otherwise it's a dead console to me.

I like my Wii, I just feel it is a tad bit over rated. I enjoy Warioware, WiiSports, Zelda, Sam and Max amongst others but what I get on my PS3/360 just fills this gaming gap that the Wii just can not satisfy.

I began gaming on the Atari 2600 then quickly moved my way to the NES and loved SMB3, Three Stooges, Tiger-Heli, Contra, etc.

First game that really changed me and made me the gamer I am today was Final Fantasy VI.

I can see where the OP is coming from. I am in the same boat.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Are you serious? You didn't like Super Mario Galaxy... Or Smash Bros? Wow.. that is a shocker. Did you try multiplayer brawls in Smash Bros? If not, then you seriously don't know what you are doing lol.

Are those the only games you played? You really don't know what to look for on Wii do you? No More Heroes? WarioLand? MadWorld? Metroid Prime 3? De Blob? How about the newly released New Play Control Pikmin? Or House of the Dead: Overkill? If you don't like on-rail shooters, how about Deadly Creatures?

The list really does go on, so before you decide to give up on something so quickly, look in the right places.

Thanks for your time.

Just kiss the tip.

How does Metal Gear Solid have "soul"? It is just rehashed action hero jibberish.

Not that it is a bad thing..

@KylieDog: Admittedly it's not a very hard game but I'd like to see a picture of that save file....

your right its not for me either i need soul also

i liked ur remember parts in the beginning of ur thread im at a point were i like games for the serious story telling as well as gameplay
