Those aren't casual games. Brawl is perhaps one of the most hardcore games this gen. Single player clocking more than 200 hours to get 100% and then 500 more hours if you are into multiplayer.

I traded my Ps3 for Wii for a month with friend.

I tried Wii Sports,Wii play Res 4, Smash,Mario Galaxy and Zelda.

I was really jealous for Wii users because of these games and was really looking forward to play these.

Smash  might be but heck you can play Wii play over 500 hours and its not hardcore game.

 

What I find funniest is some of your favorite games, like Mega Man X2, Yoshi's Island, Soul Calibur 1,2 and 4, Tekken 2,3 and 5, Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, NHL, and Dynasty Warriors 2-6 all have no soul under your criteria, which mainly revolve around having a story. Considering they make up over 30% of your listed favorite games, I would say you don't care nearly as much as you say you do and merely want to take pot shots at the Wii.

AHhhh, now I remember who you are, and I was very interested in hearing your experience with the console. I would ask for a trade back. I was very disappointed with SSBB too, its why I traded away my wii as well.

But really you should play these games with some friends because that is where they shine. Also, you should give SMG another try. Some of the later levels get quite difficult and its really nostalgic in a cool way with some of the features in the game; like a coin bonus that plays the dungeon song notes on each coin you pick up.

If I were you I would try to rent Oneechanbara, madworld, and valkyrie profile. Especially VP, the original was amazing, please pick it up, and give us another review after you've played it.

For me Mario or zelda have more sould then MGS or Halo but that is just an opinion. And what sort of soul does Gears of War or Grand Theft Auto Franchises possess? Fair enough if you dont like it. I dont like shooters for example

But i really dont know what have you expected from Wii sports or Wii play complicated game play or story? Play Wii Boxing or Tennis with friends then you'll find soul in those games.

I know that its not your Wii but you've only tried a very few games.

Lets think first what do you remember from your earlier games.

Remember when you got your first million in Tetris?

Remember when you beat Eternal Star for the first time in Mario Party?

Or not stuff like that, stuff like in games like Super Mario World where you have that weird happy face trought your whole adventure?.

These games and many more have changed my personality.

 

I recently got PS3 and I played some games.Much talk of hardcore on PS3 in here aswell..

First I played Uncharted which was great.

Then I played Tekken, GT5P and ResidentEvil5 and hated them all.Tekken and GT5P was fun but nothing more than few hours with friends. I just hated ResidentEvil5 because first its "story" was sooo kids fantasy world and contols were bad..It was ok with a friend.

Then I go to GTAIV, 97 on metacritic. I really got angry in first missions and tried to play over hour but no way....I liked some GTA games I have played on PC, PSone and ClayStation 2 and was really looking forward on this..

Ratchet and Clank was pretty good but it's not enough.

Buts Its not all about PS3. I played SuperSmashBrowsBrawl and again it was fun with friend and it has huge replay value but It doesn't have that soul.

So I hate hardcore games since these are marked as a hardcore games.

Good games need to have a soul.

Well I know everyones has a diffrent taste.

So I'm trading PS3 back to Wii in next few week when my friend finishes its games.

I'm not gonna touch PS3 ever again.

Hmh you are right that those games don't have great story but my top 7 is

1 : Grandia (PS1)
2: Metal Gear Solid 1,2,3,Portable,4
3:Final Fantasy X,FF Tactis,FF Tactis:War of lions,FF 7:Crisis core,FF VIII
4: Devil May Cry 1,3,4
5: God Of War 1,2
6: Killzone 2
7:Zone of the enders

Megaman X2 was my first game with Yoshi's Island and I loved them,Soul Calibur and Tekkens have great gameplay and each charactes has some sort of story, Castlevania Dawn of sorrow had great story,NHL well its great sport game and Dynasty Warriors are just fun and even they have pretty unique story of Japan.

Someone is just asking for trouble I see, ok you don't like it, fine return it but don't even try and say that games on Wii have no soul at all.

Different strokes for different folks bro. Also times change.

I no longer have fun playing the same style games that I did 15-20 years ago. Twilight Princess was fun, but its no Link to the Past. Mario Galaxy was fun for a while as well, but I couldn't play it over and over like I did SMB3.

This soul you talk about is not gone from these games. It's just you have changed and new games with the same old feeling no longer feel the same. You might even still love those old games, but thats nostalgia.

Don't necessarily throw out your Wii. Look for new IP games and try those.
