It's not a good idea to say that the console with the youngest age demographic is not your cup of tea. You're just asking for some hate.

*facepalm*  How many times is this going to be proven wrong before people finally stop saying it <_<

 There's many an old school gamer that has been tempted back into gaming by the Virtual Console and the change in style. I'm one of them. Many of my pals provide further anecdotal evidence. I got bored of gaming during the PS2 era. I only bought about 7 games for it and two of those were Singstar and a Dance Mat game. I'm glad I came back.

Yeah there's a lot of statistical evidence that contradicts a lot of fanboy "Wii is for kids" statements, the average age was 29 a couple years back, now that things like Wii Fit has released and more VC games like you've said, it's likely higher now.  But fanboys are the loudest and most obnoxious people on the internet so it's commonly believed that "no one plays their Wii" and "Wii is for kids" despite the actual proof being the contrary.

If you went by stats:

Age:

Youngest = 360

Oldest = Wii

Most played

Most = Wii

(never found stats on the least)

But again if fanboys used facts and logic they wouldn't be fanboys :)

Gotta love the fanboys Max. They make forums fun. They lie, they react to bait, they enter into childish denial and all the other things that make the internet so uncivilised. If you spoke to them face-to-face they would soon drop the facade.

Gotta a link? Since I have heard many times people don't play Wii much.

I don't have a link as I didn't post the factual comment. However, do you have a link that shows people don't play their Wiis? I've heard a lot of things many times, but this doesn't make them true. You can look up average times played on the Nintendo Channel on the Wii. Many games have been played over 20 hours on average. This coming from a sample of 375,000 people that have signed up to the channel.

Zelda average= 43 hours 45 Mins
Brawl= 40hrs58
Fire Emblem=38hr36
Wii Sports=35hr49
Kart=32hr54
Galaxy=26hr27
Resi4=23hr37

There's quite a few more figures in this months ONM.

One of the newer Nielsen studies I'd have to look it up, or you could if you so desired, but Nielsen studies things like that, also NPD study on which gaming device is used online the most placed PC at first like always, 360 in second, and Wii in third.

MaxwellGT2000 - "Does the amount of times you beat it count towards how hardcore you are?"

Wii Friend Code - 5882 9717 7391 0918 (PM me if you add me), PSN - MaxwellGT2000, XBL - BlkKniteCecil, MaxwellGT2000

I told you, you most likely would come away disappointed by the Wii. I know I have been. Galaxy was solid but not spectacular. (Mario 64 it was not). Twilight Princess was solid but not spectacular. (And could be played on a GC). Smash Brothers was worse than the GC version, etc, etc.

IMHO, people who own the Wii are primarily composed of complete casuals (Moms, Grandparents,etc essentially people who thought it was neat!), Young kids who had the system bought for them by parents wanting a more kid friendly system and the deep down Nintendo lovers who have had their roots back to the NES/SNES days.

I fall into that last category. With that being said, Gamecube had a handful of solid games, as does the Wii. The game selection on the Wii however isn't even as good as the N64 one IMHO. (Which while top heavy, wasn't that strong overall).

Nintendo has bothered me increasingly since the SNES days. Always the same handful of games every generation(Which are usually good, but honestly many times aren't 'that' great). with very little meaningful third party support.

The Wii is no exception as far as I'm concerned. Using 6 year outdated Hardware essentially, selling it for a higher price than the Xbox 360 (Which does HD graphics) and even considering RAISING prices in the current economic climate? (Despite record breaking profits?) Nintendo knows it has a dedicated core fanbase (Old Nintendo players and now Old Nintendo players with children who they want to buy a more kid friendly system for) and they abuse them thoroughly.

If it's not a lack of titles, it's a higher price than what the system is actually 'worth'.

The Wii fooled me like the GC did before it. Nintendo won't fool me again.

See the difference when I complain about something and when you complain about something.  I complain about the actual product and back up my complaints as well as I can with specifics, you lump the people that buy that product into one catagory.

Like others have said, it's fine to not like a product and it's fine to voice your opinion but when you make baseless assumptions about its userbase is where you start bothering me.  It looks like you think adding IMHO on the end of every statement will completely protect you but that only gets you so far.

And I know you may want to argue with this warning and that is fine, just be warned-- do not argue it here because you will likely only get yourself in more trouble.  PM me if you wish to talk about it.

The wii isnt for me either but i dont even dream that i will never touchone again because there are a few good games on it and i really wanna try madworld

Lets think first what do you remember from your earlier games.

Remember when Meryl got shot by Sniper Wolf in Metal Gear Solid?

Remember when Sephiroth killed Aeris in Final Fantasy VII?

Or not stuff like that, stuff like in games like Grandia where you have that weird happy face trought your whole adventure?.

These games and many more have changed my personality.

I recently got Wii and I played some games.Much talk of casuals on Wii in here aswell..

First I played Resident Evil 4 which was great.

Then I played Wii sports,Wii play and SuperSmashBrosBrawl and hated them all.Wii sports and Wii play was fun but nothing more than few hours with friends. I just hated SuperSmashBrosBrawl because first its "story" was sooo kids fantasy world and contols were bad..It was ok with a friend.

Then I go to Mario Galaxy, 97 on metacritic. I really got angry in first missions and tried to play over hour but no way....I liked some Mario games I have played on Ds, Super Nintendo and CameCube and was really looking forward on this..

Zelda was pretty good but it's not enough.

Buts Its not all about Wii. I played LittleBigPlanet and again it was fun with friend and it has huge replay value but It doesn't have that soul.

So I hate Casual games since these are marked as a Casual games.

Good games need to have a soul.

Well I know everyones has a diffrent taste.

So I'm trading Wii back to Ps3 in next few week when my friend finishes its games.

I'm not gonna touch Wii ever again.

Good games needs to have soul yet you have the Tekken and Soul Calibur series and the Age of Empires series listed in your favorite games?  Don't get me wrong, they're fine games but they don't have soul.

Also, you have yet to try some of the other great Wii games that have plenty of soul:  Super Paper Mario, Mad World, No More Heroes, and  Zack and Wiki to just name a few off the top of my head.

If you'd like some casual games with soul, try the Rayman Raving Rabbids series, Boom Blox or Warioware: Smooth Moves.

Totally wrong Soul Calibur even has Soul in it's name! :P

^^He got you there.
I don't want to buy those games since its not my console.And Madworld seems like Manhunt which is good but its nothing new/huge.

Yeah I know many would think those games don't have a soul
They don't have that kind of soul, but they aren't like souless dolls.In Tekken and Soul calibur story is not like Final fantasys or others but each character has its story, and each character ain't soulless doll.
Jin Kazama tries to seal his cursed blood in Tekken. In Soul Edge,which was one of my earliest game on Ps1 I remember how Siegfried turned into demon, Rock had lost his family etc, that kind of made a bottom to Soul calibur story...

Age of Empires 2...Hmm while it has its story its pretty soulless. Ok got me there.

I wasn't complaining about the Wii, I was talking about the demographics for the system in my opinion.  Re-read if you need to.  In my opinion,  Wii has designed it's games for their consumer base (Which I believe is composed of what I mentioned above).  Just like every console does.   It's why someone who is more into PS3/360 might find Wii games 'Soulless".

Like others have said, it's fine to not like a product and it's fine to voice your opinion but when you make baseless assumptions about its userbase is where you start bothering me.  It looks like you think adding IMHO on the end of every statement will completely protect you but that only gets you so far.

It's not some 'baseless assumption'.  It's just my opinion as to why someone might consider Wii games Soulless.  They aren't necessarily geared towards someone who prefers 360/PS3 lineup.  Many Wii games are designed for the Core Nintendo fans (Mario, Zelda, Smash, Kart, Metroid,etc) and many are designed for more casual players (Wii Sports, Wii Fit, etc) and many are designed for Kids.  It's my opinion.  I realize that may be incorrect, stupid, worthless, etc to other people.  They don't have to agree with it.

Just like you complaining about whatever minor or non-existant issue that you supposedly have.  I don't have to agree with it.

And I know you may want to argue with this warning and that is fine, just be warned-- do not argue it here because you will likely only get yourself in more trouble.  PM me if you wish to talk about it.

That's fine.  You can warn me for whatever.  /Shrug.    We all know why this 'warning' was really given either way.
