Microsoft announced today that Halo Wars has reached more than one million sales worldwide, making it the most sucessful real-time strategy game on any current generation console.

Either VGC is lagging a bit or that is a shipped/sold differnce.

Well I've contributed a lot to those totals. I've been playing that game more than anything else since launch.

I don't think its shipped. Because MS clearly says its sold, moreover if its shipped than vgc stands at .83 mil. So does that mean just 170k at stock in the entire world? thats almost like a "sold out". Usually shipped numbers will always be alot higher compared to sales numbers. So 1 mil actual sales number.

A worthy result and good usage as well, hopefully this will see HW bubble away in the background for a number of months.

its definatly shipped. also .83 is from the 14th so less than 170k on shelves because week for the 19th (when this report came) isnt in the data yet. you are correct about shipped vs sold part

Good to see this reach a million. Hopefully this will continue to sell well for months. This seems like it was the right RTS at the right time. Halo universe combined with a proven RTS developer with a game built from the ground up for the consoles. Hope to see a sequel or some DLC. Covenant campaign would be awesome.

I'm glad to see Halo Wars off to a strong start. It's uncommon for a RTS like this to be so widely accepted. Let's hope it has some amazing legs and can give RTS fans something to die for in the Xbox 360.
