Nice boost for ps3 and 360.

the thing about MS they already hit the 'sweet spot' on the price point. they are at the point where they can maybe do another $50 off but the rest is up to bundles and exclusives and all that good stuff to sell their system. |
Put it this way, if the 360 went down to £99.99 (arcade model) in the UK (it's currently £129.99 at the moment for arcade model) when the PS3 price drops the 360 will outsell the PS3 non stop as it will still be a huge price difference, this is what MS are probably going to do when/if Sony cuts prices, the Pro and Elite models may go down a little bit or just have better bundles/larger hard drives etc,
£99.99/$99.99/€99.99 is the ultimate price consoles sell at, PS2 sold over 40 million at this price (and under), the arcade model will hit this price soon and should then increase the gap from the PS3 by millions, mark my words!
This will be the perfect way for MS to get 360's in everyone's homes due to the very low £99.99 arcade price where they can then make all the profit from software, live and accessories, I think this is what they will be aiming for this year.
Sony can't afford the PS3 price cut as it is, MS can and will counter the moment Sony slashes prices, this will then put Sony back in the same catch 22 situation except they will have lost another $1-$2 billion just by cutting prices, priceless!
Great sales for HD consoles. The cheap as chips x360 is really doing the business. £130.00 for x360 and RE? If this is true some big money is being lost in revenue somewhere.
Wii hasn't had a big release in ages, but still can't be beaten by a far cheaper console with a big release. Why should nintendo worry.
The PS3 sales figures are good considering the price.
If consoles were cars based on general value -
x360 is the standard Ford, PS3 the Mercedes and the wii somewhere in between.
In this case the mid range car is beating the Ford.
M$ have taken on advertising for RE5 for Capcom. Every ad for RE5 here in UK finishes with available for Xbox 360 for only £129.99.
What the hell is Sony playing at. They arent marketing anything. Not even KZ2. At this rate Sony deserve last place.
^No wonder there is a boost then. There was a heavy marketing campaign. I haven't watched any terrestrial channels (besides Six Nations), so I haven't seen any myself!

I'm not entirely sure, but I think the PS2 currently retails at £99.99/$129/€129

People were saying the exact same thing last year around the time MGS4 came out and the PS3 had been outselling the 360 for several months. We all know how that turned out.

Don't bother, it's like talking to a wall. Go check his posting history to have a few laughs.
Well, can't wait for software numbers...

I'm anxious to see the SW as well. I also want to see if there is a similar boost in NA.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.
