Given that it's sold a fraction on double the user base it's not really that brag worthy. All this shows is that the audience for this kind of game is drastically smaller than on the other consoles, and the % of wii owners interested in this sort of game is even more drastic compared to the other consoles.

An audience exists? Yes, but if the team that made WAW on wii had instead been split up and put making two much cheaper family party games would they have profited more? I think that is the real question the publishers will be looking at.

What you have just said addresses this lingering stigma that everything that glitters party is gold. There can only be so many games that address the exact same consumers (without much "loyalty" mind you) before the market gets saturated. You could argue that this hasn't affected FPS sales on the 360 or something, but those are purchased by a different breed of player.

The reason we see so many games of the same kind on Wii shelves is because they aren't selling, so they will stay there, until somebody buys the thing.

We can also go back and forth talking about how this game was already cripled by its lack of features in comparison to the PS360, multiplatorm sales loss, and the fact that the Wii did not have the established (I think 9 million?) userbase of COD4 owners.

Not only that, but the previous entry in the series on Wii sucked so badly it probably detracted a fair few from the Wii version of WaW.  I know at least one person that happened to.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

sales are growing week by week, it can reach 2m easily, just watch Call of Duty 3 for Wii, has been selling for 2 years, and now it may have crossed 1m as well

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

I think this is the first M-rated game to sell a million on Wii. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles.

On an interesting note:

Call of Duty 3 on the Wii outsold the PS3 version, which makes me wonder how much the Wii would've benefited from a COD4.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

Sorry, I forgot the GC port and the on rail-shooter.

Pixel Art can be fun.

with regards to the party games making more argument - there's barely any party games out there that sell for more than half the price of full priced Wii titles so they wouldn't necessarily make more money.

The party game market on the wii is showing signs of being saturated imo and the releases of them certainly seem to be slowing down this year.

The fraction argument is also pointless as fractions dont pay bills, good way to make the large install bass seem to be a negative.

Fact is if this game cost less to make and proves it has good sales then we'll certainly be seeing more games like this in the future on the Wii.

I firmly believe this is the Wii's year for publishers to sit up and take notice of the Wii.

Well done.

You can't ignore a million-seller, despite the fact that its a bad attach rate for the console overall (1/48th of the users), that's still a million sales for a relatively cheap version. You simply can't ignore that, i think. Hope it brings a port for Modern Warfare 2 in the pipe

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

congrats COD WAW

A really good port at that, and an on-rails shooter. Yeah, so what's the problem?
