Forums - Gaming - Enoughs enough Nintendo ~ Article That Addresses serious issues Ninty has!

Certainly everyone is entitled to their opinion -- no matter how ill-supported or illogical it may be.

I can understand that this person wants some news. I feel his pain. He also wants Nintendo to be like the other two gaming company. He is missing the point that Nintendo is successful exactly because it does not use the same model as Sony and Microsoft. And here I am not just talking about the famed "Blue Ocean" strategy. I am also talking about things like making a profit from the consoles, holding PR close to the vest, not over milking the mainline set of games for a franchise, etc.

That could be why Nintendo makes money and is able to continue making games.

PS -- Could someone explain to me why everyone gets so worked up over Kid Icarus. To me, it is a one-off NES game from 20+ years ago with a bad GB sequel. After all, no one is clamoring for a Clu Clu Land, Balloon Fight or Ice Climbers remake after all.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

Sounds like a friend of mine.

If you don't like the games Nintendo offers now, I can't help you, but there are good games coming and some potential hits you may have missed out on. Most people are fooled by metacritic score and blog posts, so they don't buy what is actually a good game, instead of a pawn in some reviewer's agenda.

@ mike - The balloon fighter doesn't have the advantage of being one of the most fun and powerful characters in Brawl

so, your new console quickly outsell your other one that was supported by your "loyal fans" (the same ones that made Eternal Darkness a huge blockbuster, I guess), what company in the world would "go back" to them?

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

Well, wiiware might support Flash soon!

I thought the wii is what you Ninty fans really wanted: the ultimate rehash. Ninty hasn't changed. If you don't like it maybe you should have stopped buying all those Mario 64 clones and all those rehashed ports(which ironically also includes Mario 64 lol) Don't get me wrong though all "gamers" love rehashes its just that Microsoft and Sony are pretty much standing on the cliff, so far they've only rehashed the controllers and all their consoles have the same name...

Rant is partially right. Nintendo needs to make more good games. 2007 was fine, 2008 was not. Still hoping for announcements for 2009.

The only reason I would love to see a kid icuras is because I think the game concept would be really cool. I don't care that it is a 20+ year old franchise, but I can see a really cool game made out of it. Mix Zelda + Metroid + Wings, and you get kid icuras. Ice climbers I don't see potential in the 3D world, and same with Balloon Fight. If Nintendo could come up with a way to make it work and be fun, I'm all for it

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

What I don't understand is how gamers are so impatient for new Marios Zeldas
and Metroids? We already have them. I don't want a sequel to a franchise with 24 titles I want a new IP with developed with the same polish. But no that is way too much to ask for right?

In speaking of Metroid, we are getting a new Metroid game (likely a sidegame), not sure if it's for the Wii or DS.
