"Blinded by the book"... heh... I like that one. I'll be sure to remember it.
Anyway, it's events like this that are what made me an atheist. I know that not everyone in a group agrees with the same thoughts, but it's the bigoted nutjobs that are the most vocal. Personally, I've never liked people who hate people that are "different", but that's because I'm one of those who has always said fuck being "normal." And thisin I know is one of my weaknesses- I hate the biased, yet I have my own bias against said people.
I'm sorry, but NOBODY has the right to tell someone that what they think is wrong, without facts to back it up. And for the record, the bible doesn't count as facts; you can read anything you want out of it. A long time ago, I recall someone said that the bible condemns homosexuality 36 times, and heterosexuality 185 times (numbers approximate). Wouldn't that make heterosexuality worse? This is why I say it's not a fact. If you want to believe it, fine. But don't try to restrict me.
Getting back to the topic itself. There are a fair number of homosexual people in society, like it or not. And a game about "life" should reflect these differences. While getting every minute detail is impossible, they did get this one. And the slamming is for portraying something that's not "normal." They need to get a life. Obviously, they won't get this game of life, yet they need to realize these choices are not a game for some others. Thus, the life they need to get is a current one. The argument about it being 2009 makes sense in this regard: homosexuality isn't as hidden. Only by accepting this will you have a life matching modern societal years. You don't have to like it; acceptance is the first step. And this game of life has taken that step into the modern era; it is life.
