noname, what´s Little King Story about, anyway?..Is it a RTS game?

Sort of. Have you played Pikmin before? It's similar to that. However, there are 30+ different kinds of citizens ("Pikmin"), and more importantly each of them is a complete individual: they have their own lives, own families, own level of respect for you, etc., kind of like the people in Harvest Moon (in fact, the guy who made Harvest Moon is one of the key creators in this game).

In addition, it's kind of like a Sim City game, as you're building up your kingdom from a handful of huts to a world-conquering powerhouse. You get money by completing quests/objectives, and you use that money to build new structures, which either allow you to have more citizens move in, to train your old ones in new classes, improve their abilities, etc.

You also have to win your citizens' respect for them to care much about you. Completing their requests, keeping them alive, etc. are ways to win respect, and the more respect they have the more likely they are to follow your orders. Getting your people killed decreases everyone's respect for you, and I believe the decedent's family in particular starts to dislike you (it gets worse if you don't attend their funerals).

Argh! So much to say, so little time to say it! Here, I'll include some links for you, if you want to know more. But long story short: Pikmin meets Harvest Moon meets Warcraft.

Can't you see whats happening? Why do you think Dead Space is on rails? Is EA risking millions of dollars on an untested product for the Wii? No

The very fact that there may be other companies copying Capcom IS THE PROBLEM.

I see what you're saying, but I really think that things aren't as bleak as they seem to you. Support on the system, even from ALL of the big publishers, is increasing, not decreasing. Granted that the big boys aren't going all out on the system (except for those times that they do), but again, so what? If Capcom etc. doesn't want your money, then give it to X-SEED/Sega/the many many MANY other companies that DO.

Third-parties don't owe us anything. Fortunately, we don't owe them jack-shit either.

Anyhow, I know you're not completely convinved yet, but I'm off to classes/work for about ten hours (*groan*). Care to continue this discussion at that time?

It has become apparent that Capcom doesn't want my money. That's fine. I will give it to Sega, Xseed, and Nintendo among others.

EDIT: Noname beat me to it with those companies so I'll mention a few more.

Ubisoft (No More Heroes)
THQ (de Blob, Deadly Creatures)
Whoever is publishing Overlord: Dark Legend

It looks like the last time I will be giving money to Capcom for a while will probably be for Zack and Wiki.

I think it's more a baffling wtd? situation. Last gen Capcom showed strongest interest in highest selling platform which was the weakest system. This gen they are strongly backing less sold systems with a divided user base and doing a 180 in regards to concerns for computational power.

As I said before and others have also. Companies today are less interested in money and more in making games to show off to other devs. It's the age of the Game Star.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

I really don't care, it's their loss really not us.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

noname, interesting, this game´s got my attention, I´ll check it out more carefully later.

megaman - Seriously? Using a mod on a capcom source regarding engine specs? Because someone "let it slip"? Forum moderators for a company, if they arent actually part of the dev team, get no info. They are babysitters to keep the kids from being abusive to each other.

While its agreed that the RE5 engine requires too much power, the RE4 engine works just fine on the Wii. It takes VERY little to bring a game like RE5 to the Wii via the RE4 engine. Scale down textures, models and just swap out the art and audio assets from RE4 and plug them in with the modified RE5 assets.

With or without you guys, this re will probably sell even better with a even bigger wii userbase.

Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

Well, the hope never dies!

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.
