Advanced sales for Capcom Co.'s Resident Evil 5 for Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 held sales above the version for Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 in the latest sales data at Amazon.com.

On Wed., Resident Evil 5 for the Xbox 360 held the No. 6 rank in Amazon's Video Games division, while the PS3 version held the No. 8 rank in the same period.

Capcom this month said that Resident Evil 5 for Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 and Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 will include a Mercenaries mini-game when the title is released on Mar. 13.

The unlockable mini-game will include modified levels from the story mode that feature continually respawning enemies, scarce ammo, harder enemies and timed challenges.

Microsoft in Feb. announced the release of a new Xbox 360 Elite Limited Edition SKU, which includes Capcom Co.'s Resident Evil 5 software.

The RE5 Xbox 360 Elite SKU includes a red color console, red wireless controller, 120GB hard drive, and a token card including Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and exclusive Resident Evil Premium Theme for $399.99.

Capcom in Feb. said that more than 1.8 million Xbox Live members downloaded the RE5 demo.

Resident Evil 5 will be released in standard and Collector's Edition SKUs on Mar. 13.

Sony in Feb. said that the Playstation Network online service for the Playstation 3 has exceeded 20M members worldwide.

Hmmm... its amazon... so its not the entire market. Tough I am expecting the 360 version to outsell the PS3 version in the US, and because of this mayeb even worldwide...
