^I agree. I don't see those as mini-games at all. Not even micro-games!

The "excite" series is about points and crazy tricks, not classic racing. I guess F-zero is one of the games that Nintendo'll announce in a middle term (a no brainer in my opinion)

Miyamoto was pretty cheesed about the last one, I'm not sure he wants to visit the series any time soon, and I hope they do it with SEGA again cause I loved the GC version over all the other F-Zero games, but with Miyamoto not pleased it might not happen again. (no Nintendo + SEGA teamwork =
)

To everyone who's bitchin, I said I DIDNT LIKE THE AD, the game could be amazing, the ad edited to just include bonus tricks was not
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

um....you saw a trailer from several different races. They wanted to showcase the variety of the stunts that you will perform. Take a look back at many of the trailers from ExciteTruck and you will constantly see the ground being "deformed"...even though that was just a minor aspect of the gameplay. And you might want to adjust your idea of mini-games. All these soccer balls and bowling pins are in the race. That, by definition, is not mini-game, but in-game.
I'd like sometime a little more serious myself but this could be fun. I'll probably rent it.
Excite Truck + Super Sandwiches + Bowling = WTF?
I loved Excite Truck, so I'm sure I'll try this eventually.
And those were some pretty awesome shots of a father and son sharing some game-bonding time.
Racing and gymnastics.
In retrospect, it seems obvious.

no, there are no minigames. The Excite series gameplay is about scoring the most stars at the end of the race. Whoever has the most stars is the winner - not necessarily the person that finishes the race first. They just throw in a lot of random stuff for how you earn those stars - such as the soccer ball, bowling pins, etc. It's still purely racing, you just have a mess of stars you've gotta earn, and you've got a LOT of different ways to earn them. |
So this is like Gripshift on the PS3, PSP, and 360.
