Forums - Gaming Discussion - The VERDICT Is REACHED -- IGN Proclaims Miyamoto As the BEST Games Dev!!

@Kasz216

God forbid that I offer my damn opinion on a forum that discusses video games. What a horrible and self centered thing of me to do, so foolish and stupid to think that a popular, influential and critically acclaimed franchise like Metal Gear could ever be compared to the unquestionable supremacy of Miyamoto. Why even bother commenting when the only response is hostile and insulting. Good job encouraging an open discussion and inviting other opinions.

Major props to Carmack for basicly inviting first person shooters as we know them and for opensourcing his old engines.

What was insulting? It was the clear truth.

You argued you thought Kojima was better due to liking his games more.  What about that isn't you that arguement based on the fact that you like his games more?

If we were going to forgo all sense of the world and pretend we were the masters of the universe I might as well Proclaim Matsuno the best of all time.

The reason why people don't question Miyamoto is because it's not really questionable unless you hold an needlessly self centered opinion.

He's made just too many popular franchises and pioneered way too many things.

wiimusic is bad, only nintendo fanboys say it's good. Myamoto deserved this award a few years ago, now is just the shadow of himself...

The reviewer-led smear campaign against Wii Music notwithstanding, it's absolutely brilliant. Even if it were not, however, that would be a single game out of how many? 20? 30? Miyamoto shows no signs of retiring anytime soon, yet he has already been responsible for more classic than almost any four developers make -good or bad- in their entire careers.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

Koji Kondo was the highest ranking VGM composer. I call that justice.

It's lame, but Miyamoto should be judged by his best works.

Yes, number 69.

Devs that have worked on games I like:

94. Chris Sawyer

91. Masahiro Sakurai

87. Satoru Iwata

69. Satoshi Tajiri

53. Takashi Tezuka

37. Ken Levine

26. Rob Pardo

21. Tim Schafer

20. Koji Kondo

7. Shinji Mikami

1. Shigeru Miyamoto

Goichi Suda(Suda51) didn't make the list?

Funny how GameTrailers never even put Sid Meier in the top 10 on their list.......

I think it's bigger news that they were able to list 100 to begin with... no seriously, I can only think of 10 people that deserve a mention.
