I think alot of people are forgetting (which by the way, is amazing considering how oftenly we hear about 360's one year headstart from PS3 fanboys) that the PS2 is into it's 9th year of life, 360's into it's 4th.

Like I said in my other post, at the end of the 3rd year for both these consoles, the PS2 doesn't have alot of the games it will be remembered for yet. (GoW, MGS3, RE4, R&C: Up your arsenal, SoTC etc). So if we were to compare, it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility that the 360 surpassed the PS2 at this point in time.

However, like I said in my other post, the PS2 really kicked it up a notch in 2004 and beyond, which is something I doubt any console this gen will be able to do (as well).

So right now, end of Year 3 VS End of Year 3, Xbox 360 has a very good case for that title (But I did say in my other post, that one important game probably gives the PS2 the edge, depending on who you're asking). What matters now is what MS does from here on out.

(But I still believe it won't achieve it though, like I said in my previous post).

I hate repeating myself, but people seem to forget the thing I mentioned in my first line of this post.

Since when is the PS2 remembered for RE4?? It's remembered for STEALING RE4 from the Gamecube!

It's unfair to compare the X360 in the middle of a gen to the giant monopolizer PS2 in a full gen.

We should check in 2012 if the PS360 has a better combined library than the PS2.

By the end of its first full year on the market 12-31-01, the PS2 already had many of the games it will always be remembered for and more AAA games than has had the 360 in four years, Cal4mity. It had ICO, FFX, MGS 2, Baldur' s Gate, Jak and Daxter The Precursor Legacy, Devil May Cry, GTA III, Gran Turismo 3: A-spec, Tony Hawk 3, Klonoa 2, and more. And the Wii and probably PS3 are both going to be getting better games than the 360 for the rest of this gen, so the number of quality titles coming to the 360 from here on out will decrease instead of increase as it did in the PS2's later years. Compare the number of AAA exclusives released on 360 in 2008 versus its 2007.

not really stealing but Nintendo threw a crappy port at it, but the irony thats where the game got popular when it was on Ps2 (Crappy port ) not Gamecube (Better Version)

NINTENDO didn't do anything of the sort, nor was the port all that crappy except in that the PS2 couldn't handle the awesomeness of the Gamecube's version.  I called it stealing because IIRC Nintendo made a deal with Capcom to have that and a few other RE games as Gamecube exclusives but then Capcom was like "but we really want the money" and ported it anyway. 

It sold 70% more on the PS2 on a userbase of like 400% more.
