Owning multiples consoles FTW!

Agreed. Especially as someone who owns 10+ games for all consoles! (30+ each for each HD console!)

Might as well post this.

Xbox 360
Lost Odyssey .91m
Blue Dragon .62m
The Last Remnant .58m
Infinite Undiscovery .46m
Tales of Vesperia .29m
Eternal Sonata .26m
Star Ocean: The Last Hope 0.17m (will go up drastically)
Enchanted Arms .14m
Phantasy Star Universe .10m
Spectral Force 3 .04m
Zoids Assault ~.02m
Operation Darkness .01m

PS3
Valkyria Chronicles .36m
White Knight Chronicles .33m (JP) (will go up)
Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice ~.21m
Enchanted Arms .16m
Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom .12m (JRPG?)
Eternal Sonata ~ .12m
X Edge .05m (JP) (will go up)

Wii
Pokemon Battle Revolution 1.30m
Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors 0.59m
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn .40m
Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World .36m
Dokapon Kingdom .08m
Rune Factory Frontier .04m
Opoona .04m
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time (JP) .04m (will go up)
Baroque ~.03m
Harulanaru Toki no Naka de 4 ~.01m (JP)

As you can see there is no better console this gen for JRPGs than the 360 unless your game is called pokemon.

Difference in marketing and publishers of Ps3 IPs and MS IPs is huge. VC was a new IP from sega with no marketing that managed to sell half of MS best RPG that had a great deal of advertising and hype. WKC was only released in Japan from Level 5, which are good RPG devs but not widely known.

It's a simple fact those games would sell a lot more on PS3 due to JP sales, theres no way arguing around that. Americas sales aren't as important in RPGs and with a name like SE the brand recognition brings in JP sales wether it sucks or not. I'm not sure what people are trying to argue here, fanboy or not you can't deny it would have a lot more sales and bring in a better profit from software if it were on Ps3.

Well I do. I bet Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon and probably even The Last Remnant & Infinite Undiscovery wouldn't to better if they were PS3 exclusives.

Now it's obvious that the PS3 version of TLR will lose against the 360 version, but even with a simultaniously release I think the 360 version would have won.

As long as the PS3 version becomes the better version (and it has been proven to go either way), it doesn't matter if it "looses
."
And for a simultaniously release, SquareEnix sells more copies, and more gamers have access to the game without having to buy another console or just for the console of their choice.  This is what gaming is about, need I remind some of you.

Why do you need to change the subject in the first sentence ?

Anyway this is serious business and we're not in Teletubbyland. SE won't release FFXIII on the 360 in Japan. *Oh noes they are so evil*

You honestly think that if a JRPG released at the same Time on BOTH the 360 and PS3 the PS3 wouldnt do better? Especially with Japan on its side? You Fail at life

Japan is big in terms of JRPGs, but not bigger than NA+Others. So yes Blue Dragon would have destroyed a PS3 version, Lost Odyssey as well and like I said probably even IU & TLR would have outsold a PS3 version.

And please don't insult me just because you have a different opinion. It makes you look like a 12 years old kid.

Wait. You think if Blue Dragon was multiplat, that the 360 version would outsell the PS3 version?

@OutlawAuron I'm actually 100% positive that if Blue Dragon was released day one multiplat, the 360 version would win.

December 7, 2006 JP Blue Dragon Release
August 28, 2007 NA Blue Dragon Release

11 November 2006 PS3 Releases

Total Units of PS3 on August 25 2007 in America Slightly under 2million
Total units of PS3 on December 10 2006 in Japan around 250,000

But Blue Dragon's sales weren't in its first week or first months sales.

It was the first 360 game to have any type of legs.

Well I'm not an expert on sales or business, so maybe I'm not 100% sure =P, but the difference between 7 million and 2.5 million seems large enough to almost assure the outcome. Plus first week of Blue Dragon was still slightly over 1/6th of it's total sales.

I think its time to face the facts guys.

JRPG's are NOT what they use to be.

Sure there are a few really great ones so far this current gen, Valkryia, Star Ocean, Taking Forever Fantasy Games, Enchanted Arms (lulz), Etc... Etc...

But the fact is, More and More JRPG's WILL be going to the Nintendo DS and the PlayStation Portable.

Handhelds = The Future of JRPG's. it'll most likely even go on to PSP2 and DS2 or whatever people are calling them now.

Mass Effect was an above average jrpg, yes, Vesperia is the best jrpg this generation, followed closely by Radiant Dawn and Valkyria, yes, these are all truths to most purists out there.

However, hating on Square-Enix because they don't put games you want to play on your favorite system is childish. I don't care what your justifications are. I laugh at your misfortune, and relish in your anger and justifications. The PS3 isn't exactly a software seller, so it is likely that if MS are paying SE money or stock directly, they are making more money keeping these games temporarily exclusive, than they would with some halfassed PS3 port that wouldn't sell very well either. Just look at how poorly Bioshock sold. PS3 fans aren't software movers. Even their exclusives sell relatively poorly.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

With most 360 games in Japan, the first weeks are less than 1/2 there first week sales.

Look at Vesperia, IU, TLR, etc. SO4 is going to follow as well.
