Joking aside, how would it work without figthing, you explore new island and what, they are all empty? No pirates either?

^ in the previous Anno games I had far more fun by just building the cities and fullfilling the inhabitants needs - enemies just were in the way and I eradicated them when I had enough money/resources to gain more room for my plantations

Yeah, I am more a builder too myself, sadly for most 4X game at higher difficulty level you need to be agressive or you are simply run over by the AI due to their big bonus. One of the reason why I always play Emperor or lower in Civ, after that it's pretty much impossible to win being a builder.

Still, I like to have the threat and having to juggle with the AI in diplomacy. You don't need to fight but if there is no fighting at all it remove some important part of the game I think.

Nice to see Ubi putting out a decent game and not the usual sh*tware

yea, I feel the same about that, without competition it wouldn't be as engaging and I hope this game isn't as "peaceful" as the marketing makes it seem, but then again warfare never was Annos strong point ;)

is the combat aspect of the new anno game (for pc) any more fleshed out than the simple combat system in 1602 A.D. (the only one i ever played, and i think it was the first one actually) in that game, you basically had 4 types of land based combat units (like a musket guy, horseman, cannon, and i forgot the other one., and a couple types of combat ships.

i love this game, i have the gold version of anno 1701 for Pc and its very good.. cant wait to try this one....

Looks interesting. Gameplay could be awesom, graphics could do with a push though... Would be a buy if i still had my Wii.
