This is actually a great idea. Hopefully someone important sees it. |
Don't know if I'm someone important, but I've seen it and like the idea. I will discuss it with the rest of the staff.
And some of the stuff that's coming will definitely enhance any VGC addictions!
Congrats!
Anyway,
1) Some more uses for VG$. Contests of some kind? Privileges?
2) It should always remain free, that's the point of VGC in the first place...
3) Add a "Donate" button, though.
4) More reviews. I know there have been more reviews in the last four months than in the preceding three years, but keep going!
5) Give a front page link to the Prediction League. Newcomers have no idea where it is.
6) Add XBL and WW numbers to games. The data is there. Hopefully Sony will start releasing PSN numbers at some point.
7) Make adding games easier, something like Playfire. Type a game into a search bar, a list of games comes up. Select the one you own, choose the platform from a drop down list, and click "add".
8) Put PS2 numbers on the front page. It still sells.
9) The logo could use tweaking, it's a little...generic. But keep the name.
10) The ability to edit thread titles. Yes, I know you can just check, but you can't ALWAYS be right. Remember that "When will soy make a price cut?" thread? And all the replies involving Soya Sauce and beancurd?
11) An article on what each of the admins/mods/perhaps contributors is expecting out of 2009.
12) Posting is becoming a little slow. Could you see if you can fix that? It sometimes takes over a minute after I click the post button for the page to load.
13) Keep up the good work!
14) Oh and also, don't make us reset our post count. Please. Everyone will throw hissy fits.

On-topic, I agree with most of the ideas Kantor suggested, and the bans for specific boards sounds interesting. And may I suggest the power for mods to relocate threads trhat were placed on the wrong board? It's common to see a lot of threads with posts like "this should go into the X board instead of here"

Well done lads.
Glad to be here for the before and after !!
Please don't put PS2 sales on the front page. It would ruin the 7th gen system percentages. And more importantly, everybody will be complaining when the Wii stays on the front page for the next 10 years and it will drive us all insane.
But maybe for the graphs you could allow us to compare 4 or 5 systems at once instead of just 3. And maybe have a tool where we could pick a few weeks or months or years, pick a few systems, and it could give us the total sales of those systems within that time frame and the sales percentages within that time frame. So I can compare say, PS2, Wii, 360, PS3, within only 2007 and 2008, and get the % numbers. That's really the only thing I can think of. You guys are doing everything else perfectly. I don't know, maybe put root beer in the drinking fountains. Or let us make one on one wagers with VG$, but only for people with a couple thousand posts so that people don't create alts to bet with themselves.
