i wanna be the guy (done on live stream, no less)
wanted to prove that i could beat the damn game (im still stuck on the 7th boss though)
it lost its fun after dieing for the OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAANDth time or so

First of all I don't think anyone can beat "i wanna be the guy" without it being forced.  That game is the hardest game ever.  At some point it just about dieing to get to the end.  I think I got to the second boss and decided I was just done.  It's impossible.

Every time I pickup MGS4 it feels forced, but I am trying to justify my PS3 for something other than movies.  I have not finished MGS4 it yet.  So the last game I finished just because I needed too has to be Metroid Prime 3 I guess.

Before that and Gears 1, but it was fun.  I had Gears 2 and did not know the story line.

EDIT:  I forgot about N+ that was to get 200/200, but again I did not feel forced cause I was too much fun.

Final Fantasy XII

I did it for the story.  I really hated the combat system and that just killed it for me.  But I wanted to see how the story went so I sucked it up and kept going.

I tried to force myself through that game twice but just couldn't do it.

Both times I managed to get about 16-20 hours into the game and both times I wanted peel off my skin and then rub jalepeno juice all over myself just because that would be more enjoyable than enduring another minute of that game.

Don't even bother with it, the ending is not worth it, it sucked.

Just youtube it if you really want to know.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Actually I'm better not knowing because I just imagine them all dying a horrible painful death.  The gameplay isn't what made me hate that game, it's god awful story and incredibly boring characters.

Technically the bolded is wrong because you could go whichever way you want at the start and do the first six in pretty much any order (7th and 8th are forced to be in that order though)

True... I remember going the Mike Tison route (up), and I think he was fallowed by E.Honda or maybe like a ultra big dragon something.  I dont remimber, or just never got there, or maybe that was the first boss going the down or low road.  I do remember beating Mike.

EDIT: Regardsless it is HARD ASS.  If anyone want to expirance the paid that we are talking about.  And I do mean PAIN.  Just play some of the demo.  I will be suprised if you can make it off the first screen without dieing at least once.

Mission Impossible on the N64. I cant really say it was a bad game..and some part i did enjoy...but others i wanted to kill someone. Why did i force myself? My uncle bought it for me for my b-day..and everytime i seen him he asked if i beat the game and how was it...yep.

I admit that I didn't see Venat coming. but if "it" had ended up being the real thing to contend with not Vayne, I'd have been happier I guess. My real problem was that I was expecting emotional touches like FFX and FFVIII lol. The story just felt distant and like just another war between kingdoms.

Venat was the source of the primary conflict throughout the game, the driving force behind both Vayne and Cid, and the source of knowledge about the Magicite and Nethicite. The conflict between the Occuria and humanity was the source of all the major decision-making which was leveled by Ashe and Basch and the rest, and the source of the driving forces behind the actionso f half the major characters.

You didn't guess everything from the beginning. You didn't even guess a quarter of it.

Venat was exactly the same as Yu Yevon in FFX. A cheap explanation of why the main villain is so strong. The Occuria were actually pretty random and when we saw them for the first time, I was like "what the fuck?". They didn't explain what/who they were and yet the main characters didn't bother to tell us what they know about them.

...Venat was exactly the same as Yu Yevon?

So Yu Yevon was the primary force that set it up that the heroes were able to defeat the big bad, instead of actually being the big bad himself?

Venat's entire purpose was to give humanity the tools it needed to rid the world of the power of the Occuria and thereafter remove himself entirely, so that humanity would be the arbiters of their own destiny. That was why Venat told Vayne that their purpose had been fulfilled, more than Vayne could ever know.

The Occuria were the gods. Their backstory was lightly touched upon in the main narrative because their oirgins weren't nearly as important as the fact that they controlled humanity through Nethicite and the Dynast-King, but their entire backstory was basically laid out in the mythology outlined in the monster encyclopedia entries, particularly with the Esper entries.

Venat is nothing like Yu Yevon and saying that they are "exactly the same" is just obscene.

That's kind of how I understood it also, which I said earlier, but I think Godot was trying to point out that Venat and Yu Yevon were just the reasons the final bosses were so powerful.

Of course the Occuria could also be talked about in future Ivalice games.

Hmm, pie.

I forced myself to get through the last mission Medal of Honor Heroes two but thoes damn germans were still damaging me bad, ever after ducking and covering but i through, and now im trying to level up my party in FFIII sigh its tedious..

Metal Gear Solid 3. The gameplay got really boring after a while, but I had heard that the ending was bloody awesome, so I persevered.

It was all worth it though. Man the ending was incredibly moving.

I drink your milkshake.

Rule of Rose............. Did not like the story, combat, or pretty much anything else about it. The only reason I finished it was because I was borrowing it. Had a guide with me the whole time so I can at least say I beat it.
