Wow, no one beleives Sony.
Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.
— Pat Buchanan – A Republic, Not an Empire
The PlayStation 3 shipped around 10.77 million and the Xbox 360 also shipped 10.8 million: a dead heat. As for life-time sales, the Xbox 360 is at 28.45 million and the PlayStation 3 at 21.35 million - a slightly tighter gap than Microsoft's announced 8 million.
So if MS is currently at the 28.4 according to VG, The PS3 could be at 21.3 and the PS3 is under tracked on VG. Or MS is overtracked. I assume the units in the supply chain are similar between MS and Sony. ... Either way... one of them is off by 1 million units on this site.
@ demacll, or they have different numbers of systems in the supply chain

Everyone in here believes Sony. Some of us just know what they are actually saying.
The Ps3 is undertracked in australia (70k due to the bravia deal), in canada (the vgchartz magic number for NA 0.9 is wrong, the canadian market is not the us market), wrong number in germany (but at least adjusted), italy, spain, france.
The ps3 is undertracked by 1 million and in order to keep credibility, vgchartz needs to correct the numbers.
watever it is it still good considering all the ps3 hate that is and was going on wen it launched
