What I find scary is that almost every one of those titles interests me, and could be a potential purchase - at least. The Wii easily has the best spread of titles across all genres - and for harcore/casual gamers.

Most of the PS3 AND 360 titles hitting will only appeal to the same people who have already bought those consoles (or already intend to buy one). The same doesn't apply to the Wii lineup - and that is what makes it so powerful.

(so if you think in terms of the colour spectrum - the PS3 & 360 are putting out really strong light in one or two colours. It helps the PS3 to have titles like SingStar available, although it doesn't help that the console is still not priced casually. Nintendo on the other hand is generally fairly strong white light - across all spectrums - something that everyone can see!).

(and its not like the Wii needs more reasons for people to head out and pick one up anyway - as its still selling out. This just ensures that whatever extra units are available for Xmas will be snapped up, and that there is sell-out pressure through most of next year).

In other words Shams...60 million Wiis sold worldwide in 2008.

Idk, the Wii is still lacking in many categories. That being RPGs and Shooters.

Anyways, I dont really care how much the Wii sells. Ill pick up Brawl and any good RPGs that it might get.

Not that surprising. The biggest hitter, SSBB, was delayed (one more month!). SSBB is looking like even more of a monster than it did four months ago, thanks to all the dojo updates. Super Mario Galaxy lived up to expectations and then some. I was disappointed with BWii and Nights but pleasantly surprised by Z&W. Guitar Hero delivered (in mono). I'm still looking forward to No More Heroes even though reviews are mixed.

Brawl has been delayed again? Wow, I really have to start reading that SSBB thread. That's most disappointing, although I still have it reserved at GameStop and will pick it up on launch.

@ damkira Brawl will release on Feb 10th, if you were wondering.

Wiimageddon has started, now that Nintendo has 15 titles with at least 1 million units sold in its first year it's just unheard of, PS2 had 11 titles its first year I believe, the numbers are adding up to show what kind of monster we might have on our hands.

On a side note I'm very glad Prime 3 finally got it's much deserved 1 million units sold, that was the most unexpected fumble on the list, but it's recovered thankfully.

There's still a great lineup for next year to keep the Wii million sellers going and hardware sales too, even though it doesn't seem to even need it right now, I got my copy of Brawl paid off, Mario Kart reserved, and theres rumors of a total overhaul of Animal Crossing which was why it delayed and also dropped off the map this year, rumor is its going to be like a MMO, I think if it comes true it probably would be more close to guild wars where you can talk to a lot of people but only a like 8 people can come over to your town, while thats an AC lovers wet dream I'm sure it will have a better sense of community then ever and I will be picking it up in 2008 as well.

Agreed completely.

It won't be lacking in RPGs for much longer - plenty of those coming out.

Shooters are interesting though - I think you'll start seeing a slow flood of them hitting this year as well. Its harder to make them for the Wii, as they still sell really well on the 360 (and PS3) - probably better than they would sell on the Wii.

Wii also lacking decent driving games, and "Sandbox" games in general.

i agree.  personally i don't care about FPS or Sandbox games, but i'd like a good racer.  not including Mario Kart, not a big fan of that, however fun that might be.

the Wii is an epidemic.
