so i wonder what nintendo is going to do if the ps3 starts to outsell the ps3 regularly. kinda like what the psp was doing with the ds last year

Agreed. What Iwata said in his latest finacial report regarding Japan makes me think it will be differcult to change. He said that their has been a "cultrure shift" there where everyone is more mobile and prefer quick play...Basically a complete casual gaming culture. I, like other should, found it surprising when he said that Nintendo was going to start focusing it's games more toward Western taste...

if anything this makes the 360 situation in Japan look even more terrible.....if we are taking price cuts into account.

People are "shocked" on the basis of the vg chartz preview.

 for a console that has had TWO big fighting game already (Vf5 & SC4) why would SF4 raise sales?

People shouldn't base expectation through the preview which is regularly "off"

 

Price cuts don't disappear after 1 year. My point is that Nintendo has much more ammo left than Sony to bolster sales.

Ok, this week is a win a Nintendo and a lose for Sony, I mean, the PS3 was supposed to outsell the Wii this week and it didn't(despite Wii not being in his best moments with no new releases and SF4 for PS3).
Of course the following weeks PS3 will be the king.

With S04 just released and RE5 releasing in two weeks time it should be closer to one month than two for Famitsu. 360 could possibly be the top selling home console this week.
