| Azelover said: The problem really is the general trend. I don't think this is necessarily reason for Sony fans, or any fans of videogames to celebrate. This is mostly about the Wii declining, not the rise of the PS3. If anything we are seeing handhelds take the place of home console gaming, the Wii was really the alternative to that, not the PS3. Unless Nintendo can reverse the trend, and make living room gathering popular again, something that is unique to a home console, there will be an overall decline in revenue for a while in Japan. |
Agreed. What Iwata said in his latest finacial report regarding Japan makes me think it will be differcult to change. He said that their has been a "cultrure shift" there where everyone is more mobile and prefer quick play...Basically a complete casual gaming culture. I, like other should, found it surprising when he said that Nintendo was going to start focusing it's games more toward Western taste...
The Interweb is about overreaction, this is what makes it great!
...Imagine how boring the interweb would be if everyone thought logically?
