360s install base isnt any bigger than that of the ps3 !

and i base that on one little thing that everyone here seems to ignore , or doesnt want to admit too , and that is the number of consoles the average 360 gamers goes/has gone through ! and im going to be very generous and say 2 consoles per gamer (which would'nt be that far off seeing how alot of people went through 3,4,or even 5) ,would you still log on to VGchartz and say ""YEAH 28 Million 360s sold ! that means 28 Million people have an XBox 360" ? i hope your not that narrow-minded and that you have the abillity to judge and decide for yourself .

So ,when you think install base, please dont compare it to the number of consoles sold . that goes for PS3 and wii too .

Ya cause no one gets them repaired for free they buy another. also they dont count warranty and exchanged as sales????

but your right the ps3 totally kills with software sales based on the same amount of user?????

sorry that was a flame.

Somebody lock this please its so silly.

In before the lock ...

@ Acetech - no, you can't compare online accounts. I have 1 LIVE Gold account and 1 LIVE Silver account. I have 3 PSN accounts - 1 is in French, the other euro account in the UK. And my U.S. account.

It might not be much bigger, but it certainly is better for the console, per gamer.

We buy a shit ton of games, while the PS3 audience, not so much. Just compare exclusive sales, or how bout sales of the best games, like Bioshock. It's quality, not quantity.

Not that I'm taking credit for the 360 fanbase being a megaton for the industry. I'm just stating that it's a damn fact.

European PS3 owners prove that you're wrong. The PS3 sells more games there despite its smaller userbase.

and how the hell is the install base going to increase!!!!

Your logic is extremely flawed and entirely without basis in reality. Your notion that everyone has gone through, on average, 2 systems is absolutely laughable. I have yet to meet one person who has bought a second 360, and have known a couple who have had to get it repaired. They do the smart thing and just send it in under the warranty, or pay the small charge attached to fixing it. You are using anecdotal evidence and terrible logic to try and portray the 360 as having a smaller userbase for some reason. Really, everyone would be better off ignoring it.

I went through 3 360's so I kinda understand what he's trying to say but then I dont understand lol....their cant be THAT many F*cked up 360's...

Oh and my 360's NEVER broke down on me and I had 3...

1st 360 sold for having lack of games at the time that was in early 2006

2nd 360 (Elite) sold for being a D*ckhead needed money at the time

3rd 360 sold since I got a Ps3 and I had to gather up money for my car :)

See so technically I had 3 of those 28 Mil...but thats just me idk How many other people did this lol...and I know some people who would rather go out and buy another 360 then have it shipped then have to wait for it to come back...its possible but doesnt make up for the 8 mil gap

That just means that someone else has those other two now--the amount people own is still exactly the same.  In fact, by this guy's logic, you increaed the install base by doing that.

my logic is simple , if you still want to ignore it be my guest .

and how the hell is the install base going to increase!!!!

Now you see how ridiculous it sounds when someone says that.  Most people are intelligent enough to heed the three-year warranty (which only just expired for launch consoles) instead of shelling out another $200.  On top of that, if you really believe what you're saying, then the PS2 has only sold 70-80 million (roughly half what our numbers say) because almost every owner has had to replace it at some point, andSony DOESN'T fix or replace them for free.

My logic is simple.  If you still want to ignore it, be my guest.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Tag, courtesy of fkusumot: "Why do most of the PS3 fanboys have avatars that looks totally pissed?"
"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

Why dont we compare the number of online accounts. Plus I know 3 people that have 2 or more 360s.

Point taken, but also alot of broken 360's were replaced via the 3 year warranty.
