Consoles have NO adventure games, except the Wii (which has nowhere near the amount of titles as PC).

Do PC gamers a favor and stop talking nonsense.  You're embarassing us.

PC has been losing nothing. Did PC lose Shooters? No, they are merely going multiplatform. And it's consoles that are losing RPGs - There are less and less RPGs coming out on consoles than before. Hell, JRPGs are even starting to come on PC, with the PC version of The Last Remnant releasing before tha PS3 version, and extremely heavy rumours of FFXIII going to PC.

How many RPGs released on 360 in 2008? 8.

How many RPGs released on PC in 2008? 50+.

Seriously?  I need more RPGs, please list a few for me.

Be forewarned, if they're all MMOs I will laugh at you.

PC gaming isn't dying. Digital distribution sites like Big Fish will continue to increase the pc gaming userbase as has been going on in the past few years. If people think the Wii has the most casual players, think again. Online poker alone probably has a larger user base than all consoles combined. Then we have Bejeweled and Mahjong and such. No sir, the large pc gaming user base will be able to continue to support MMOs and $6 puzzlw games for a long time to come.

@Vlad, if we compare last year's PC lineup with the lineup of any console, PC easily wins. No contest, and 2009 will be an even bigger year for PC.

There is more than enough room for PCs and consoles to co-exist. In fact I think they compliment each other. I love my PC-PS3 combo.

It seems like the PC-Wii is the win/win combination.

The PC-Wii combo may be far better for FPS but it isn't much different for 3rd person shooters.  I'd also rather play non-Brawl fighting games in a PS3.

You're the one embarassing yourself. Did you atleast check the games you're listing before posting them? Only 3 or 4 games on Xbox 360 and PS3 lists are adventure games. I think you should check the definition of an adventure game, or are you one of those people that believe Zelda is an adventure series?!

And about PC RPGs, too many to list, just check gamerankings or something. And also, MMORPGs are valid RPGs, anyone that don't include MMOs in the RPG genre are just doing it out of ignorance.

MMORPG is the fastest evolving sub-genre of gaming as of today. Now compare that evolution with the staleness of JRPGs and backtracking of WRPGs...

To be fair, 2009 goes to the PC simply because of SC2, Sims3, and Total War.

@frybeard
I fully agree. I laugh when the HD people say the wii sucks because of inferior graphics, shitty multiplayer, and simple games. When the HD consoles, when compared to the PC, have shitty graphics, HORRENDOUS online, and simple games.

The HD consoles also forgot why consoles are around anyhow, drop your disk in and play, which the Wii does. Right now HD systems already have to deal with installs, hardware failures, patches, rushed games, and buggy games. All reasons why a normal console was better than the PC to begin with.

@FreeTalkLive

3rd person shooters are pussy-fied1st person shooters.

Agreed completely. There is some game spillover from pc to ps3, there are plenty of games i'd rather play sitting on my couch than infront of my computer. Some of my own ps3 games are also for PC, there are plenty that are exclusive to ps3, such as great $5-$10 PSN games, along with a variety of retail games.

He has a point. The Xbox to a lesser degree and the 360 and PS3 to a greater degree would really like to be PCs. I find it noteworthy that none of these PC-like consoles have seized market dominance. I'm not at all convinced that "PC gaming culture rules the day."
