Let's put it this way: If I ever buy a PS3, I will probably download the KZ2 demo and then decide.

The former is less and less likely though.

I think he was referring to purchasing the game not merely downloading a demo.

That's why I said "and then decide". I wouldn't buy the game before trying it given the complaints about the controls.

haha, you're on of those control sticklers. I wonder how many got used to even cod4/halo 3/gears/mgs4 as soon as they picked up the controller lol. It took me a couple months to get very good at cod4. Many of those people fail to realize that KZ2=/=cod4. if it was, it would've said so on the box and people would have something else to complain about LMAO

Call of Duty 4's controls have pretty much become standard for the genre.  Resistance 2, for example, is a testament to that.  That said, I'm sure Killzone 2's control layout will be second nature to several in the coming months.

It seems that way because it is currently the most popular game in the genre. But there were fps games before cod and people didn't mind their controls...they got used to them. IMO, it just seems pretty lazy to expect one to somehow get accustomed to how a game controls as soon as the controller is picked up. After multiple runs through the demo, I got used to them.

You're right controls would be off-topic in the coming months guaranteed.

Why haha? I didn't even play the game or produce any opinion about the controls. What's wrong with playing demos?

Give it a break...

I said "haha" because I didn't think you were a control stickler and thought I might have been wrong after all. The same complaint was levelled against RE5 and if I remember correctly, you didn't seem to have a problem with RE5's controls.

Ther's nothing wrong with playing demos. I never even delete them (320gb ftw!). I'll give it a rest like you requested.

Hint question: Would I be able not to have a problem with RE5's controls if I had not tried the demo?

fair question even though I highly doubt you'd ever be trying/buying killzone 2 at all.

I'm not a fanboy.

I'll get Killzone though....

not sure i'll get it at launch or anything though.

Probably wait a few weeks, depends how i'm feeling shooter wise.

The demo will probably mean a lot too.  Haven't bothered to make a Euro account to get around it yet.

If I had a PS3 I would have bought it but I don’t and I won’t anytime soon. There is nothing on it that interest me really

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

I have all 3, and I will get Killzone. The controls are different, and I think they definitely will take some time to get used to. It'll be the first game I purchase for my PS3.

Controls matter to many people. I know my played the RE5 demo and didn't like the controls, so he is skipping the game. If you don't like the weighted feel of Killzone 2, there's no point in getting it. It's a shooter, and the most important part is how it feels when you control it. I'll probably play COD4 multiplayer more than I play Killzone 2 multiplayer.

whats a "control stickler" ?

Controls make the game, why buy a game that looks real good but is no fun to play?  *cough lair*

Controls can be the most important part of a game, especially for a FPS.

Also when people talk about the controls in KZ2 I think they mainly reference the aiming, and how it has that unresponsive, lag type, feel to it.

COD4, Halo, or MGS4's aiming was very easy to get use to, kind of like pick up and play, because well... they don't have that unresponsive aim to them..

A "control stickler" is a term I made up?

An for the whole aim respose thing, if you move while aiming like I do, killzone 2 isn't a problem.

When I first started playing cod4, I usually got killed when it came to shots from the hip till I finally figured out that the best way was to move to a single direction while shooting. These things take getting used to. Some are easier than others no doubt.

Maybe for a Killzone bundle for $249

No, I won't buy a PS3 this gen. It is just not worth it. I own a XBox360 and I don't have the time to play all those upcoming blockbusters. On Monday I will get Mass Effect and play it. I missed it due to lack of time. Halo Wars will keep me busy a LONG time and I expect a 40hour campaign for Star Ocean as well. And there is Lost Odyssey still waiting, same for Fallout3 or Fable II DLC.

The best shooters and RPGs are on the Xbox360 this gen. Some good games won't make a difference. But I am happy for everyone enjoying Killzone2.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

I'll get a review copy from Sony soon. If another staffer gets it and I don't, I'll rent it and see if plays just like the demo. If so, I'll wait a while and catch it on sale.

I understand that. It just seems rather lazy IMO to discredit a game because you didn't "get" it when you held the controler for the first time or because the devs didn't rip off the controls of a popular game.

Notice how RE has been selling less since it switched to the so-called "better" controls and became shootered out? The shootering of the series are the reason I'm skipping 5. I didn't get the controls at first but I didn't evn play the demo through because I just don't like the diection the series have taken but for people like me who enjoyed old RE games and other so called "badly controlled' games, this is nothing.

It looks like I'm going to be one of the best kz2 multiplayer players on launch lol.
