Yakuza 2 is sitting at 760k in Japan, 40k in NA, no data for EU.

Star Ocean: Till The End of Time is sitting at 535k in Japan, 740k in NA, no data for EU.

In fact, I think we're predicting too high for The Last Hope, if a PS2 game did that much in Japan...

I wouldn't expect Star Ocean IV to hit a million, seeing as a PS2 game only got 1.3 million.

 

 

With good marketing and time it'll get there.

Even LO, a new IP,  is going to pass 1 mill in a couple of months so it should be possible for SO4 as well

Guys, bear in mind that SO3 did 400k first week on the PS2...you know, that console the Japanese love?

It won't do anything near that on the 360...you know, that console the Japanese don't like very much?

People really are predicting crazy numbers for SO4 in Japan, for even 200k sales we are looking at an attach rate of 5:1 so for every 5 360 owners, 1 will purchase SO4. Sadly people also have no idea about the Yakuza franchise and how big it is in Japan, people will be in for a shocker.

 you are talking about yakuza right? Star Ocean alreads has a release date for NA and I think even for Europe.

But X360 is owned by hardcore japanese gamers, so an attach rate of 5:1 is not far-off.

But that would still only be 200k, nothing compared to what Yakuza 3 will do in Japan. 360 owners in Japan are "hardcore" but then again so are PS3 owners, you cant call 360 owners "hardcore" but not PS3 owners when the console costs twice as much.
